In NZ where "official" phones are only available from Vodafone, the prices are worse. Lower mid-range prices are competitive though, due to competition from grey importers.

C902 on NZ release: NZ$ 899 (US$ 524.94)
C702 on NZ release: NZ$ 599 (US$ 349.81)
W910 on NZ release: NZ$ 799 (US$ 466.56)
W910 now selling at NZ$ 399 (US$ 233)

X1 at an importer (not officialy released yet) NZ$1,741.80 (US$ 1,017.12)
W980 at an importer (official release delayed) NZ$ 764 (US$ 446.11)
C905 (not available anywhere - importer or official) expected to be NZ$ 1,300 (US$ 759.27)

We sometimes get 30 - 50% discount when we sign up to a 2 yr plan, but we never get free phones as an inducement to resign. Only corporate customers get free phones...

NZ dollar is at its lowest level against the greenback for 5 yrs. Currently NZ$1 = 58.38c US, last year it was at 88c US and we were sitting pretty.

Fanofmodi, you paid the price didn't you. Considering free market values a product isn't overpriced if the customer is willing to pay. Also will you pay a lot if you want the newest immediately. If you're willing to pay, what's the problem?

Get the G705 mate. I think it looks a lot better than the C905. If you haven't read this already, check out the Smape review too.

And what's more, SE phones here usually deteriorate in price faster than you can say discount Seriously, the price usually goes down in 3 months to 80% of initial price.

Isn't that the case with almost any phone?
Case in point: A new N95-8GB costs close to $500. You can buy a 6 month old phone in 9.5/10 condition for $350.
The N78 has lost more than half its value.

In india SE does not believe in price competition and letting nokia and samsung takeover the market. Dumb ass.
