In my country launched price of C905 is USD640 which is considered unacceptable.
Samsung innov8 costs 890USD, just sold 2 in one week at a premium shop nearby. I bought k850 at launched price of 400USD which is also considered overpriced and i also bought c902 at launched price of 400USD. I remember some guys with their big fat chinese phones were laughing at me looking at my tiny screen of C902, i hope they were wondering for what i paid 400USD. Well i dont care but seeing these days price competition i dont know why SE overpriced this phone too much and i wonder how much they gonna sell, not much i think. I think il hav to wait one full year to get it at a decent price.
Hell is empty,
All the devils are here.

it's always been SEs market strategy to overprice phones

Umm.. $640 is quite reasonable for the features and technology offered, especially since it's just one of four 8MP camera phones on the market right now. Nowadays, $400 is considered "mid-range" by most companies and you can't really expect to get a top of the line feature phone that's just been launched.

You can always buy the latest phones at half their original price (or even less) a couple of quarters down the line. Nobody's forcing you to keep up with tech.

I'll be sure to remember this thread when the c905 becomes available in my country, 'cos I know for certain it won't be less or any where near $640...

Not sure if one should only blame SE for the prices or their distributors and retailers as well (I'm sure they add to the price). At least in Sweden you can find C905 for around $590 and Innova for around $790 in stores.

In the states you don't have to pay 25% VAT. With that in consideration I think $590 is actually not that bad.

Here in portugal you can find innovate 8gb for 690 (considering its features its not bad at all) ... and w980 for a ridiculous 540eur!!! (Now this is what i call overpriced!!) No C905 yet but considering w980 price it will be no less than 550eur. SE better learn with they rivals nokia and samsung cause only fools buy these phones with that price :S

i think SE are probably over-relying on brand strength of cybershot/walkman to sell their phone. someone should tell SE that it only works like that in the real world if the image matches the reality. sadly for SE, it doesn't. and joe-knows-nowt-about-mobiles is waking up to this.

You can find w980 for like €345 in Sweden, €300 in Germany and €345 in France. Not sure what is going on in Portugal, but a difference of around €200 seems a bit strange, but everything is possible.
