Mobile Internet - Why use it? |

I use it for catching up with forums like Esato and Se-nse, bidding/checking sales on Ebay, email, online banking, and occasionally things like Google Maps.
I also found it quite useful whilst on a ferry just about to sail for Amesterdam where all the prices in the shop were in Euros. I used my phone to translate the prices into sterling using www.xe.com , got the latest exchange rates and able to check prices instantly!
Also whilst in Amsterdam for the Marathon which my sister in law was running in, used it to upload pictures taken with the phone to Facebook for my mother in law who was unable to come but could keep up with what was happening pictorially almost in real time! Probably cost me a bomb in roaming data charges but worth it.
Always worth having an 'unlimited' (i.e. 'fair/reasonable usage as they call it) data plan or using the mobile internet will get very expensive!

I use my phone's internet mainly to surf the web.
Check my friendster account, research on everything i want to know, to post my replies here on esato, to check my mails and everything i want to do with it.
I dont even use computers for accessing the net. |

* clientcopia.com (wap version 2go.clientcopia.com).
* esato.
* internet banking.
* Price checks and product reviews and product specs before purchsing in store (to make sure I'm getting a good deal or the specs are right for what I need).
*webmail (my domain, and my yahoo account)
* pop mail.
* Googling for information about all sorts of things when I need answers on the spot.
* Occasionally google maps - but still on a restrictive data plan so I keep that to a minimum atm unless it's over wifi.
* skype over wifi on my Windows Mobile.
* mobile youtube (only occasionally - again data costs are restrictive)
* checking flickr or uploading to flickr from my phone.
* music downloads - though only occasionally - my operator only offers 128Kbps DRM music which I resent paying for Once my provider offer a service like bigpond ofr example, that offers 320Kbps MP3 (non-drm'd) then I will use this service a lot more.

I use it when my school's wlan network's clogged.
Usually I would use my phone as a HSDPA wireless modem using Joikuspot, so that my friends can access the Internet on their laptops.
It's especially useful when it's projects' season, where everyone would just bring their laptops and connect to the school's network all day. HSDPA is really speedy compared to the saturated wlan. |

@ med,
They're our Network providers' sites.
They offer free sms online to the subscribers. |

Facebook + MSN chatting. Thats basically for killing time. A phone is too inconvenient to anything else for fun on internet

For you maybe
I find being able to google things hyper-useful. Mobile Wiki access is also a major plus. Great for resolving arguments with friends over disputed facts
Not to mention pricing and product specs. I've saved a lot of hassle (and money) just by being able to look up prices or specs while in a store.

Googlemap

Google in general
Cinema times
Resolving arguments with friends
Basically mobile web has so many uses its impossible to list all but it comes down to convenience and being able to access the internet form where ever you are. |

I use it to read forums while lying in bed before I go to sleep, or because I cant be bothered to get up.
It also doubles up as a modem too. |

Looking at porn when you're really desperate, you don't have a computer with you and you lack imagination

I do use wiki or google pretty much everyday. And buying stuff, well I do that probably more than I should too
