My mum said the same thing mate, but my argument was:

I live about 8min walk from work, and the way to drive to work is about the same length (I cut through the park, if I drive, I have to go around the park).

That's the only place I go at the moment..work, and haven't needed the car since May, so don't really need it now, I agree it would be nice to avoid wet weather but it's only a few min walk.

Also, the money being paid for tax, insurance, petrol etc...I could be putting towards the ford focus I'm saving for.

Even if I'm only saving £100's in tax, insurance and petrol, that's still hundreds closer to my new car I'll be when the time comes

Looking at a black 3 door focus, 40k on the clock, tinted black rear windows, it's around £2500-3000, so a nice price too!

Can't wait to have the money so I can start looking around more.

There's 1 on ebay here:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/P-REG-C[....]40%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

1.1 version with 98k on the clock, no tax or mot, has 4 bids and is at £255 with 2 days left, so with an MOT, better condition and 20k less I'm hoping mine would be around 700 mark.

I guess so, sorry I guess I just find it hard to able to live without my car, been driving for 2 and bit years and I really wouldn't want to be without it. Had to use the bus for a day when I had it in the garage for repairs, then remember how much I hate the bus
My opinions on this forum are that of my own and not of the company I work for.

Lol, I've never used a public bus and haven't used a train in about 8 years, so I got no idea how to buy a ticket on tues lol.

I like to walk/jog, it's all them little journeys that add up, I made a promise to myself that when I pass I won't drive *everywhere* because I was already fat and lazy lol.

Started driving, couldn't really afford petrol, so ended up having to walk anyway lmao.

If I worked far away and had the choice of car or bus, I'd use my car without a doubt, but Halfords is the closest shop to my house and only a 10min walk so it makes sense to walk
