What's my car worth |

Any one have any idea what my car is worth, I haven't got a clue what to start advertising it as:
Details:
Citroen Saxo 1997
around 77k miles
Condition is good, no scratches or bumps that I can see, maybe the odd nick here and there but I'd have to actually look to find them.
Has no MOT
Has no TAX
Has service book, though it's not been updated for years, so not too much use.
There's no problems with it all all, starts and runs completely fine.
it's a 1.6i and red in colour.

@fatreg
Yes i agree it MUST be declared as SORN and be off the road, I would take it straight off the road if I were you?

I'm guessing its the auto as that is all that Parkers list for this year and model so take a look at that as a guide.
yours is less than average mileage but with no proof that doesn't mean a thing, also its worth alot less given no mot and no tax so possibly you might get £200-£300 max?
other than that, just look on autotrader and ebay for a similar spec and see what they are going for
why is there no MOT? something wrong thats going to be expensive?

Sorry but why are the 1st 2 comments a bit *arsey*?
Why is it on a public highway???
It's in a private parking area reserved for residents of our area.
The car IS set as SORN and IS kept in my garage and has been for months now, but I took it out to clean and take pictures, which any of you would!
Why would I take pictures of it in a small brick garage where there's no sun and surrounded by lawn mowers etc.
There's no tax and mot because some dick took £200 of my money and never sent me my ps3, which I was buying and selling on to make a bit of money to pay for my tax.
So when he done that, I couldn't afford to pay tax and mot as I wasn't working.
Pure and only reason why, and I forgot to mention it's actually booked in for an MOT next week which I know it will pass with flying colours as since it's last MOT I done about 500miles which is nothing.
Btw, without MOT it's worth I think about £400, with MOT it should be worth around £700 I think because it's in good con.
Guys, just assume it has an MOT because it will 100% pass and I am getting it 1 next week ok.
And if it was only worth £300, I'd dump/scrap it.

Btw, you can even see it's not parked like the rest of the cars, it's very far forward so I had more room to clean it...plus it was only there for an hour, and for anyone wanting proof, I can go take a dated picture of it in the garage right now if you like.

Maybe the first 2 posters were concerned that your vehicle might get towed away, other than that, with MOT etc, ask £500, prepare to discount 10-20% off that to make it look a bargain, looks clean/nice too me.

yeah I wasn't being arsey at all, just more concerned with it getting towed away and crushed, you getting fined and jailed etc........ |

Ah yes, sorry guys, jumped the gun a bit, was thinking about too many things at once lol.
Thanks for the concern, appreciate it
But ye, it was in the garage about 2 days before the tax actually ran out lol.

I reckon the engine size for a car that size might keep the price up, prolly quite nippy, but given it's age I would have put it anywhere between £600 and £750 I spose.
However, even though you've got a perfectly valid reason, people might question why it's got not MOT or tax and they'll probably drop it when flicking through auto trader in favour of one that does, thus dropping the price to closer to £450 or so, at a guess.
Dealers would give you pennies for it, so I wouldn't bother with them, but your best bet it check Auto Trader for similar cars, and check on Parkers and see what it's worth first. Be realistic though, you can't expect to squeeze every penny out of it, so you might have to be flexible on the offers, especially with the cheap car like this.

Lukechris no problem mate, I know you and fatreg were trying to help, I just jumped the gun and took it the wrong way, appreciate you advising me mate
You know, I completely fergot to look on ebay, will do that now
I have the car booked in for an MOT next week which I'm 99.99999% sure it will pass, never given me any problems and still running all fine, only thing wrong is a bulb has gone in the back, I will replace that during the week before the MOT.
Would be happy advertising it at around 700 and taking around 650 for it.
Still really tempted to just keep it, but it's a shame to have it stuck in the garage because it really is a comfy nice little car to drive.
people always say "Shame it's an auto or that would be quite nippy", but honestly it really is quite nippy for it's age/transmission type.
Back in March when I went away, *shss* I got around 107 out of it down the motorways, it drunk my petrol like there was no tomorrow, but it can still perform which I didn't think it would for the age.

Just a question, I know you couldn't afford to keep it, but what with the new job, isn't it worth hanging onto, for the sake of the £650 or so you'd get for it, given your earning over £1000 a month now I reckon you might find this more usefull than public transport in the months to come, especially on those cold winter morning when you realllllly don't want to get on your bike?
