I don't miss the service light at all, and I've had two Ericssons (among other phones) before. At least now I can sleep at night without that annoying flashing light illuminating my room every second.

That's weird that the T300 has no service light... the P800 has a LOT of old Ericsson stuff!!! The EMS pictures are from the R520 (The cartoon looking face)! Not the T68i (the anime looking faces)
Service lights are present on the P800...I was shocked cuz the phone didn't look like it had them, but it does!!! Well designed! Same as the T68, green/red on one side, blue on the other.
THE OLD ERICSSON SMS TONE IS BACK on the P800!!! THANK GOD!!! |

this all confirms my (anti-SE) theory- the P800 is a thoroughbred Ericsson... Sony's influence on it extends no further than the naff colour and the memory sticks.. |

I miss the light on my T300 all my other phones all Ericsson have thislight and yes it is reasuring at night to look and see that light flashing away to say it has reception and is still on all other current phones from the SonyEricsson stable have it so why not this one I really miss this feature and as for the red light I have never seen this light yet even when my battery is going flat let alone when it is being charged does it just show when the phone is switchedof or should it show when it is on as well please.

The blinking lights are annoying.
I wish there was an option to turn it off on the t68i.
I can't believe the option is not there !!!!
It looks like a cheep disco phone or a x-mas tree on a bad electric circuit. or a phone for kids

well do you think, there can be a way to use thre red light as if it was the reception light; I mean bilinking for reception, no light for no reception and full blow for battery low (of course it wouldn't show the reception when the batt is low but anyway better than nothing? huh?)
may be it can be implemented in a future fw?
