I (think) had the same problem with mine, The battery cover can be (very) tricky to get tight, you have to be a bit brutal and use some force (and probaly use some ugly and nasty words too) to get it tight.
Make sure the thin rubber sealing "around" the battery is in the correct place, stick the top of the cover in first, make sure the lock screw is in unlock position(mine did turn around when I was "fighting" with the cover to get it in place) , squeze down (here is were you use some nasty words) both sides until it "snap" in place, press down the bottom part and lock it........ Phew.... now hopefully itīs tight.
Thatīs the way I did it, not saying itīs the right way.
lol
Just insert a slight paper piece in between the battery cover and o-wing to fill the gap, seems fix my problem...
SE claimed C702 is IP54 headset, I put a big question mark on it regrading this case |

Got a reply from Wayfinder today, translated and a bit shortened:
With Wayfinder Navigator you can save maps on your memorystick for use with C702, however you still have to have a working GPRS/3G connection to use wayfinder. With "pre loaded maps" you have less data downloaded to your C702, but you canīt access the stored maps without a working GPRS/3G connection (the application will not start). With preloaded maps you have a average data consumption about 30-60 kb/ hour while driving.
Unfortunately thereīs no complete onboard solution for C702 available from Wayfinder.
Well, not really the best solution, but atleast you have the option to minimize downloaded data.

I thinks WayFinder require an active connection to validate your license and perform a real time search... |

Wayfinder do two versions, a preinstalled with a "one off" fee and a subscription online version. Only the second is available to the c702, so each time you run the program its checks to see if your subscription is current and downloads the maps for your journey, though if you have them in the phone already it will skip this part. |

so is the preinstalled a temp subscription that will run for 30 days or so?
What do you guys think is the best gps/nav app for C702

So, I've installed nav4all and got it to work by setting LAPI in 'GPS settings' (before it would only look for BT GPS mouse )
This part sorted (I have a working navigation app now), I'm still baffled why Wayfinder, which is preinstalled, won't work out of the box? It keeps claiming there is no GPS signal when there is. Amaze gps does the same. What do I need to alter in the settings of either one to make it work?

Folks, I've been experimenting with trekbuddy + offline maps and it seems to provide a pretty decent performance.
One thing I cannot seem to find a setting for (in the phone) is how to avoid the screen to "switch off" while I'm using any GPS application (including the embedded "Tracker").
it is quite annoying to press the phone keys every 10 secs while driving |

Had that problem with my W800. When downloading something with opera mini, and the light go off, it was paused until the next power up of the light... so annoying. it was not the case with my K800 though... The same may be happening with the GPS apps you are using...

Hi Strizlow800,
actually the app keeps on running. it is just the light auto-dimming that is not ideal when driving |

Actually I SUFFERED from that when downloading longer with my W800...

Hi guys...
I seem not to understand everything in this thread..But what seems to be the bottomline is that you cannot have a continuous free access to the GPS like normal navigators do??
..is that the case?
In that case,it seems worthless to me paying a 'using fee' for something that I could have for free just by buying a cheep Navigator for that purpose only!

Anyone using Wayfinder? - it seems buggy to me. Has locked up my phone twice and had to remove the battery both times. |

Hi,
I've used wayfinder a few times now and there's pros and cons imho.
Pro: the screen lights stays on while navigating (bring a car charger coz battery WILL run out!)
Con: when (not if!) wayfinder freezes (has happened when loosing the GPS connection) it does mean take out battery (which is very hot) and start all over.
Con: when navigating from A to B all is well in Vlammetje-land. But when putting in a new route WITHOUT switching off Wayfinder first and restarting the app, it will fail to complete a route from B to C. Message is 'contact your operator'.
Not had a chance to fiddle with other nav-apps so far. Screen-light seems a 'stupid' issue to not have considered??

Thanks for that. It's good to know I am not the only one having problems.
I just received an email from wayfinder support as I had an issue with the wayfinder7 app disappearing from the phone (solved by reflashing!!). In my reply to them I have asked if there is a newer version with less bugs!
