It's not that simple Reg, as I said earlier I personally do not believe that "ghosts" are definately the spirits of dead people. But nobody, not even the most hardened of skeptics, can deny that strange things do happen and are often witnessed by respectable people with no reason whatsoever to lie.
We just don't know the science behind it yet and so in that respect, it's a bit like Quantum Physics. For example, there are quite a few theories as to what could cause Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP) that involve real, proven physics rather than a supernatural explanation or the very weak and unproven yet universally accepted theory that "it's all psychological".

No its not expected that we are going to see or hear ghosts its just that they could be there but we just are not meant to know the truth perhaps until we go. Thats the fun in ghost hunting trying to find out exploring and finding out unexplained things. Yes of course hard evidence for us all would change things but dont mean they aint there.

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, what you suggest could easily be the case as well. It's just that I'm also intrested in *why* that should be the case: Why are we not meant to know about it?
Do ghosts, whatever they may be, exist in another dimension and sometimes inadvertently find themselves in ours? If so, how does that happen? Because knowledge like that would be bloody useful to say the least!

I've got one for you.
Me mate's sister, Kay, received a letter from the BBC saying they were planning a documentary because they had received letters about 'strange goings on' in the close where she lives.
She lives with her boyfriend and about 20 metres from where they park their car, in front of their flat, there is an old Quaker burial ground (what the difference between a graveyard and a burial ground is I'm not sure).
As it turns out, the newish apartment block where they live is built on the ground of a site that was previously, a old workhouse, then a mental home, an infirmary and finally a hospital (coincidently it was actually where I was born - don't laugh) - its called Sefton General.
She's terrified. Her boyfriend went to watch the Everton match recently and she was so scared she rang me saying she can't stay in the flat by herself again and that rather than sit in by herself could she come stay with me.
Anyway, when I heard about the letter from the BBC I rang her and she sent me a few pictures for me to look at.
At first I thought 'yeah right'. Then I looked closer at this particular one and it spooked me. Not sure why the bathroom is illuminated as such but what's with the head above the couch?
I think it was taken with a Samsung Slider of some sort - in case it matters.

well, well, well.
the second pic came OOF and cant say whether the "ghost" is a ghost or a sheet.
in the first pic we can see that the area where the second door is all lit up and the second isnt. so, the ghost isnt transparent, it is?

Well I rang her last night and she was in with her niece and doesn't wanna talk about it any more but I'm not sure what to think.
I was brought up a strict catholic and I've had some dubious spooky moments in my time, especially after me mam died, but as a rule I don't really buy in to the 'other worldy phenomena'. Quite interesting though and I'd like to see what the BBC come up with.

I've had some real spooky experiences - well not spooky exactly, just 'unexplained' things I try not to read into too much I guess.

She said the letter was from BBC Northwest and they had received numerous reports of 'incidents'. Nothing more to tell really.

I lived in Preston for a while, and the only strange incidents I saw happened after we'd been booted out of the pub...
I've found some more ghost photos as it happens, I'll have to post them in the other thread when I stop being a lazy git.
