Yes yes, last time I've been there was exactly a year ago in Jan, and Voda had just rebranded to Softbank |

Hi,
Vodafone officially announced it had agreed to sell Vodafone Japan (Vodafone KK) to Softbank for a total of 1.75 trillion Japanese yen on 17 Martch 2006, and I think rebranding started on 16th June 2006.
I shall be checking out what's avaiable in Japan in about 6 weeks time !

Jojo, I took that shot with the k810i. So many cool handsets in Japan.
Strangely, my Mrs. tried to call my Indo card while i was in Japan and it didn't work. Shouldn't she just be able to dial the same number while I'm there? I'm not good at international roaming as you can tell.
Cheers! |

@smooch - Yup, cool handsets indeed, but the brands are NOT that very well-known Did you TRY calling your wife FROM - Japan as you made mention that you were surprised that sending SMS - works, right

Smoochy,
what number did your wife dial ? 0081 or +81 etc etc....
My text service works for sending out of Japan and also for receiving from outside !

SMS service worked both ways. No problems thanks to 3G. I didn't call out since I didn't have enough credit on the phone and it's a prepaid SIM. She called 081.... Not sure if she should have dialed something different. I don't think she needs to though.

Yeah, thanks, I thought she got it right. I'm already out of Japan. It was a short stay. Not much touristy to show, sorry. But, once you've seen one temple, you've seen them all.
Cheers!
ps. It was bloody expensive to send SMS from there. 4000 rupiah compared to 500 within Indo. |
