k810i Screen Not Straight? |

My new one still doesn't seem perfectly straight but it's definitely better than the first one I exchanged. However, the speaker sucks on the new one. It clips out really badly at loudest volume with ringtones and music. I think it's a beautiful phone, I'm happy with the UI and the camera, but I'm starting to wonder about the build quality. Screens shouldn't be off-center and the speaker shouldn't sound worse than my k750i (which is a year and a half old and still sounds better). |

Hi
Are you sure you dont have a duplicate LCD on?
Because its very hard to find OEM LCD display, most of it in the market is non OEM and you can clearly make out the difference in the colours between the OEM and non oem.
So becareful when ever you give it to someone. |

I wouldn't know the difference in LCDs even if someone slapped me in the head with both of them. The new k810i came out of a sealed box, though, I suppose they could just as well shrink wrap it themselves here in Indonesia. The inside of the phone seems normal, but who knows? It's still a pretty phone. The speaker's bugging me though. |

my K810i was fine, but i have the same problem with my W960i, since the SESC indonesia is a crock, i had to sell mine and bought a new one, and been happy since
it's just SE Quality Check Control that failed |

SESC? Sony Ericsson Sxxx Cxxx? Not familiar with that term. Are the Indo models for SE assembled in Indonesia? What about Nokia? Any problems with them in Indo? |

hi smoochy,
basically, all the SE phones here are manufactured in china, that's what i believe, although they never state anywhere on the phone itself. but i am very much doubtful if they are made anywhere else, especially french where most of the P990 were made. having said that, some were manufactured in malaysia, but it's the same case, never found one on the market |

Thanks. Maybe that explains my crappy speaker on the k810i I just got. Great phone though.
Selamat. |

so well, having a screen not straight on SE phones become a regular thing, it happens on K810i, K800 and W960 which i believe they don't come from the same batch obviously....

I had it (screen not straight) on my w800i.
SE building quality on some phones is realy cheap.
My K800's keypad is realy lose with gaps f.e.
My w810's lens coating just scratches of
I don't like "made in china" at all. I want quality for my money.
Maybe I sell my phones and go back to Nokia (made in Finland)

daviep, you have the same problem with the screen or the speaker? I had one k810i and the screen wasn't straight. The replacement has a speaker that sounds like rubbish. It's pretty sad because it's a beautiful phone. I am also leaning towards a nokia next time. Are they all made in Finland?
Ps. I remember the old days when I had a T28i and it was actually made in Sweden. Those were the days. It still works and the speaker is better than my brand new k810i. Sad, sad, sad SE. |
