Just don't use one of those crystal cases - they are a waste of time and will only damage the phone if they don't crack and fall apart 1st. The other good thing about the K800 is that the screen is very well sealed from dust. My W800 collected a fair amount of dust under the screen yet my K800 has not shown one spec of dust.

Hey mongoose, glad to see you are enjoying your K800 now, I felt so bad for your disappointment at the alising affect. It never really worried me a great deal, though perhaps yours suffered this problem worse than mine did. Occasionally I get a pic with obvious aliasing that spoils the pic, but overall I'm very satisified with it. It's certainly better at low light than the K750, but I detest the piss poor flash (K750 light is stronger) and the high ISO that results in watercolour affect in flash photos. I avoid use of the flash like a plague. I also prefer the K750 for macro, since the K800 led focus light is too strong when up close, washing out the subject and preventing the auto-focus from working properly. When taking macro shots with the K800 I find it necessary to cover the led focus light with my finger so it doesn't spoil the focus.

K800i is a good and stable phone but looks not very good from backside

However my sis has a cid49 and it is reliable and no keypad problems at all.
My own cid51 (updated to cid52) is rock solid and super reliable. I haven't had a single issue with it at all.
yes, sorry i didnt make it clear but thats what i meant
ive had about 5 early (and all of them were cid49) k800's and all of them have had they keypad peeling issue.
anyway, my 2 k800i's (one with k810i software) and k810i are very very stable
K700i > K750i > K810i (current phone)

Glad to see we both have the same experience. i.e. Flash and focus. Now that I'm over(sort of) the the aliasing issue my only complaints are the flash photos sometimes being too dark and the k800's autofocus. i.e. the autofocus is slower than W800 and quite often fails on shiny objects. Otherwise, i'm quite happy to regularly use it out for a snapshot. In fact I prefer to use it for indoor shots over my 7mp Fuji S5700 which doesn't handle low light that well and can't fit as much in when it comes to close up shots thanks to the lens that is designed for zoom. | |
