Alright mission accomplished. Here is my finding.
Use Windows notepad and save, if you have chinese title songs, in unicode encoding, no need to put m3u8, m3u enough

Then unless it is different from its placed folder, add 'D:musicyour music files or folder'

Simple. OCP dosen't save file in unicode format, so you need to type out any chinese title you have.

Anyway is it possible to download Walkman's music player and use it in my P1i? Where can I download?

Hi Malcom Bryant thanks for your software! It is so rare to find active UIQ3 engineer!

I sincerely hope that jplaylist supports unicode too! To play Chinese songs!

Wish you well.

Hi Malcom, there seems to be a flaw in the sense that jPlaylist cannot save m3u in unicode format, any chinese title is saved as ???.mp3. And P1i cannot play such file. Can you configure jPlaylist.jar to save its file as unicode?

Just to add, hope you would release the one that works in unicode.

BTW just discovered an excellent software whch can work with P1i, Mp3 Tag Assistant Pro. Takes 4MB to install though.

Working on it, and will release jPlaylist version 1.01 with unicode support shortly.

jPlaylist 1.01 is now available from the website below. Just updated to support unicode format.

A reminder: jPlaylist is a tiny (3K bytes) Java freeware program which creates or updates an m3u playlist to be compatible with UIQ3 phones.

Happy New Year!

Malcolm

Genuinely useful apps, often free, and updated so quickly, are , thanks to developers like you, what keep UIQ 3 alive !

Thanks for your fast work Malcolm and Happy New Year !

Thanks, my pleasure. I just realised that I overlooked one thing: reading an ansi-coded playlist and writing it out in unicode. I just fixed that. So if you already downloaded jPlaylist 1.01 (you are quick off the mark!), please download it again.

Best regards,
Malcolm

I give up. I am not using this feature and I am NOT about to go THAT far as you guys to create a damn list !
I am mixing my songs directly on pc in one folder and that's it.

I had the same problem and worked on a few apps, I never really finished because of mixed results of testers, but both work very well for me, and I use them every day for my p1i. In version1.0 someone even reported a virus which I'm sure is not in there, but I started to distrust the compiler and used another with version 1.1. Anyway they don't work on Vista, only XP and lower. But you can give them both a try:

Hi,
I have also created a simple application but in .NET 3.5 for creating playlists for the P1i. You can read more about and download it on my blog and it is freeware.

Enjoy.
