No i didn't mean anyone in particular i was just pointing out that this an SE based Forum and the majority of users are biased towards SE, are you seriously trying to tell me that it is not so? or even not true?

If i was going to name anyone or it was directed at a single person i would of said so, i resent your implication that i was having a snide pop at you as that is just not true, trust me if i wanted to name you or anyone else i would of done so i don't need to take cheap shots unlike some that's not my style.

Marc

its a common problem! i played with quite a few at the shop i buy from, were all the same.

you dont need to tell me i could have just gotten a bad one! i know things like that happen, but its not just one, as i said, i played with quite a few!

And many reviews say the same thing.

If there wasnt any other build problems circulating around the internet, then i wouldnt have said it, then i would admit its just a lemon i (my bro) got!

oh coincidently i played with a few today - a friend and i went shopping for a phone, i recommend a few,, final choice was a k770:) they are loving it:)
- i found quite a few n81s a bit rusty..
i found one that was at telechoice that was good, after 5mins playing with it - friend wasnt sure about its thickness - it rattled:s
ohwell there seems to be some n81s with problems and the few we tried at the phone stores...werent all to great (found two of the seven that were fine)

Its up to u if u r music lover than i suggest u should go for sony w910 bcoz its a complete Walkman phone music player phone it also has high speed connectivity through 3G HSDPA technology.

But i personally like Nokia over sony phones. Battery power of Nokia N81 is around 240 minutes and has standby time of around 17 days. A 2MP camera included in the mobile phone lets a user click still images with up to 16001200 pixels can playback AAC, eAAC+, AAC+, MP3, WMA/M4A, WAV, MPEG4, H.264, H.263/3GPP, Real video 8/9/10 file formats. Also accessing internet is fast in this handset
for more Info u can check http://www.mobilephoneshopuk.net/nokia_n81.html

lol kevinwilliam view standby/talk time and these are just estimates

in terms of the buttons (dpad included) and back cover (whole back cover)... existed straight out of the box.

and yes, i know, phones have build issues too (k850 being one). So please dont call me a fan boy (<-- aimed at rockerz)

simply given an opinion based on tests on a few n81's in store!

I don't know about the rest of you,but i like the fact that it has althoughs buttons on the Top part of the slider,i think its very user-friendly, every key you need is right there, just like the N91 with another two added keys.

@500
there is nothing wrong with the buttons of N81. I've read several reviews of N81 and the only gripe they had was of its 'average', not terrible, but average slider. They also mentioned how the phone was rock solid in built.
So its very clear that its your own "personal" opinion that N81 has rubbish built quality.

@rockerz, i know you didnt call me one, but last time you did, some where else, though beats me as to why, i actually think the n81 is a good music phone along with the 5610, ill happily use any phone from any company, just right now i dont care bout features and using a simple phone, though if i wanted features id go a n95 8gb or w960, primarily for storage space and smartphone capabilities!

moving on, the back cover was very loose on all phones i tried, including my brothers one. the buttons though are fine, just they arent very ergonomic, they are too flat imho, if they were raised a little it would help quite a bit, however, they are still ok for texting, just there are better keypads out ther, my 3110 classic for example, fantastic keypad!
The buttons im referring to on n81 is the whole dpad, nokia got that completely wrong imho! poor quality buttons, and not the best layout, i find my self pressing the wrong buttons often.

@boba
w880 and n81 have similar keys?

ya one thing about the phone is the keys on the front facepad... their all so jumbled to just click with ur thumb... u have the call key, end key, symbian key, clear key, internet key, music keys, music player key... i can still go on... and the thickness of the phone doesnt really bother me i gues... i have an s500i right now WITH a crystal case on top of it... so its roughly the same i would say
