I think he/she means try getting the latest version of xs++, out of curiosity-can you use the pc suite to synch?

It's not the program that's responsible for me not being able to connect. It's the phone. I've tried serveral versions of the program, updated it to 3.1 and updated the update service software as well.

Connecting as usual to the PC Suite works just fine. But when I need to connect "while holding C" it's not working.

Guys, I own a P1i and it is definitely "C". SEUS says it.

I've tried and when I hold "@", the phone just starts to charge via USB...

Did you try reinstalling the USBFlash drivers?
Change port and redo holding c.
Is it win xp?

I did not try that, how do you reinstall those drivers, and where can you get them?

It's Vista (32 bit)

The way to check is to open the device manager on your pc when you have connected the phone. Look under usb & ports for any devices that are marked as being faulty, if you find one/possibly two then remove the drivers. I belive they're called something like P1i Master/Slave port.

Reconnect the phone holding the 'c' button, when your pc starts the 'found new hardware' wizard, point it toward your SE drivers folder, somewhere under 'sony Ericsson' in program files (mine is called 'Drivers2' but I have XP).

It could be a case of the drivers in your system32 folder being corrupt - they all start with 'zebr' to aid a search.

Thanks, but it's not the drivers that are causing the problem. I've tried the way you explained, but when I connect while holding C, nothing happens at the device manager, my phone's keyboard flashes a couple of times, and then keeps burning. The computer doesn't recognize any device being connected. I think it's a phone-problem.

Isn't there a harder reset than the master reset?

Yes, there's a format of the internal drive - you do this by openning the service menu:

* jogup * jogdown jogdown * jogdown *

As with master reset, you loose all your data.

Is it possible this will solve my problem? Will all settings be restored to factory settings? Maybe even errors restored?

I think I will have to go see for myself. I will try as soon as I can and will report the results

dude i just bought a p1i and changed my CDA to WG1 through SEUS and XS++
and i haven't had any problems. what i think is wrong with your p1i is that you have installed the right drivers yet...go here http://filebeam.com/429ce21a5d0c77c6ca89103c0a58d4e5
and extracrt it, then turn of your phone and plug it in via usb, what it should do is take you to a wizard setup and ask to find the driver update and you just have to go to where you extracted the files and load

or it could be that your pressing the wrong button because for my p1i, i had to press the @ on the side, it could be that you don't have the smarphone option ticked on XS++ so if you tick that, then press conncet, it will tell you to press the @ button

I think I've already stated that I also changed my CDA to WG1 and updated through SEUS. So it's not possible it's a driver problem, because it worked before. Also, the fact that you have to press the "@" key is probably due to the fact that you have a different keyboard layout (azerty, qwerty, qwertz).

Problem is, that when I connect the phone, windows doesn't even recognize there's something being connected to it...

I've been trying to update the firmware of my P1i. As some of you mentioned, when i connect the phone to the USB port while holding "c" .... neither XS++ nor SEUS can recognize the phone. My phone flashes a blue screen and then the blue screen stays on till I remove the battery again.
All my drivers are properly installed as I checked the connectivity with SEUS and XS++ with another P1i.
Please help
Thanks.
