I think its pathetic that we are SEEKING positive feedback on this NEW phone which costs so much.
If all we've seen are bad reviews then so be it.. No need in trying to make a rotten apple taste good by coating it with chocolate!
This phone will be great, once they fix the h/w and s/w glitches which probably won't be until Q2 of 08. |

Not true..
this is more about how satisfied K850 users are. I think we will see both positive and negative posts here from K850 users..

this is a good thread, i have not had a chance to hear goodies about K850 that i stop my wife from getting it, just an info, she is a fan of SE K series cybershot.
some points were made, which is good, and i hope that the dust and screen issues aint brought up to all SE production, and when quality control ain't good, that's where it must be stopped.
hope and wait to see more positive comments

OK, I share my happiness with my K850i :
- Love the design
- The best video recorder phone I ever have (never have W900)
- Love the UI, the screen, the keypad, the sound
- I'm also happy cuz the problem I got with K850 is less than others, only some bugs (which also experienced by all owners), but no hardware fault so far.
I will be happier if the new firmware released soon...

hi bro aziz!
it's about time someone to give in some positive points about this great device, a piece of hardwork!
sure things no SE phones beat the ability of W900 when video recording talks, not even the K850, but if someone has already said that it's the best SE phone in video recording, except the legendary W900, then i must say it's great!

i have a w900. its a great video recorder. videos are smoothly recorded. and every second of the recorded video has really 30 frames in it. Actually in another thread i started, i am trying to compare w900's video and k850's. since they are the only handsets at this point in time that can manage to capture 30 FPS video.
there are feedbacks that k850 drops the video frame rate to just 15 after some seconds of recording.. but some say its already fixed by a FW upgrade.

Do you own a K850?? why is that a big disappointment for you?? Replay like this doesn't belong here..
This topic is still only for who own a K850, they can answer theirs questions best. If you don't even own that phone how do you know what good or what bad with the phone...

i had a k810. loved it to bits. now with an n73ME. THIS one is great as well and i love it. but i just got a great offer for the k850. so i have just two hours and a decision to make about whether to buy it or wait for an n95. from what i gather, the se is good for macro whereas the nokia is good in other departments. the nokia beat it by three points in a review. i take a lot of macros, but other than that its just point and shoot, sometimes in night mode. so what should i do? get the 850?
reply soon people! hurry!
cheers!

^^ Most of the opinions from people here talked about firmware issues. which is absolutely fixable with updates. remember K800 had even issues with it's ROM system along with some few bugs which flooded some forum and sites. but look at now, how many people still complain of K800 bugs or issues? - i undoubtedly bet that the same fate will be in K850, SE J2ME developers are excellent, i mean the best among the best! - just keep your faith with SE J2ME developers, they wont disappoint in firmware updates for sure

^^ Many people here always praise Symbian because it is flexible and open platform, but have missed the fact that J2ME or specifically JP-8 is near to that capability. how many phone have capability to allow programmers to program OpenGL graphics for Java? how many could allow J2ME to access files without too much burden than ? how many would allow hackers to modify camera, menu and sound for a phone without a proper OS? how many could allow phone to use motion sensor in applications without the need for an operating system's native API support? all of that become possible with serious development with J2ME platform. no other manufacturer have been able to make a very mature OSE than SE.
