i was not insulting nor even thinking of you when i wrote that message. i did not know all of those reasons, and they are certainly valid. now, i understand more why you would think this way, so thanks for that. i did not mean to insult anyone, just to express my own frustration.
i am really having difficulty finding more people with this problem, and am about 98% ready to post this sucka for sale on amazon. it’s just not worth the money for ***me***. glad u all are happy w/urs, but for *me*, it is a no go. thanx for all of ur kind responses.

@orinlouis, don't worry, I didn't take your comments the wrong way and I can empathise with you. I'm really sorry that we weren't able to help you. I was really hoping there could be a solution as the W810 really is a good phone. In any case, since you've decided to let your phone go, I can only wish you all the best in finding a phone that does what you need it to. Cheers!

ordered the samsung a707. should be cool. it seems to have some issues, too (what phone doesn't), but suits my needs much better. thanks for all of your help, all.

I have the w810i and my Albums do sort in the correct order. This is because my mp3 files have the track number embedded in the mp3 tag. I don't have a fancy w810i either. It is a LOCKED and Cingular Branded phone in the US. If you do not have track #'s in the mp3 tag, it will soft alphabetically as you have described. My "Dark Side of the Moon" is sorted exactly right.
Either use a tag editor to fix these, or at the least in Windows OS, right-click, choose Properties. Go the the Summary tab and click Advanced. Look at the "Track Number" field. You can edit these. If you do indeed find out you do not have your tracks numbered correctly, look up Media Monkey or google for the multitude of ID3 tag editors that will fix these for you in bulk. |

Yes, if you put a track number in the tag it sorts by track #.... or if you get lazy you can rename the track "1 - (song title here)" |

more or less, members post because of issues that concern them and it doesn't always happen that any "help" always comes instantly (read: either tranced is not around , or some other "really" helpful member who would care to post anything about your issue).
