It sounds like it could be to do with your non-generic firmware clashing with the UK network. Either that or the phone is faulty. If I were you I would de-brand the phone (search google) to the generic firmware. If it still doesn't work then get a new phone! |

Look, ALL P1 owners say the phone is stable, including me! I mean, who had P900, P990 and M600i before know what I'm talking about. So stop dissing the phone, his phone is broken, he has to fix it in a SE service. What is so hard to understand that things BROKE DOWN sometimes!

@ 701: exactly.
The phone can be faulty, and SE has a lovely history in factory-default bricked phones

About the problem where you said that all the calls comes to your voicemail is because of the 3g network. If you have a bad reseption on your phone the 3g network will override the GSM network. So thats why you will not get incomming calls or sms. Most of the times you have to restart the phone (every 3g phone) or you have to come to god 3g areas or do a call so that the phone can update it self to the network.
This i have to do very often to my costumers at my shop with a lot of 3g phones.
About the other problem, i don't know.

@sanke - Morale of the story is . . . never BRING a NEW fone when travelling abroad. I guess it's time to migrate back to - India ! Try visiting a shop at your end . . . see if they can be of HELP. Good Luck !

I had this problem & it turned out to be caused by a trojan file called symbocom i think that was hidden in the other folder into the memory stick. When I scanned it with my trend micro 2008 & after getting quarantined then deleted. I never had any restart anymore.

Everyday when i wake up my P1i has switched itself off and doesnt turn on unless i remove and insert the battery. This happens everyday.
Sometimes even if the phone is showing full network, all my incomming calls are diverted to voicemail. i hav to do battery reset to get my fone's network to start.
then...

fone cant be faulty as it worked perfectly in india
Priceless. Can we change the topic of this thead from "OK P1i Sucks" to "sanke3's p1i is faulty"?
EDIT: interesting comment about that trojan file.

@mobman: or we can change it in: keep your phones out of UK, they won't work here It might be just a coincidence that the phone worked over there and not in UK.

best phone ive ever used.. has only reset once in about 4 months, rarely on latest firmware. those that say it resets all the time are speculating i believe.
have had p800, p900, p990i, m600i and bucketloads of WM6 devices, wouldn't swap my P1i for anything.
