Hey i hav P1i with R9H004 firmware

Everyday when i wake up my P1i has switched itself off and doesnt turn on unless i remove and insert the battery. This happens everyday.

I purchased this in India and now i am in UK using Vodafone pay as u go.

Sometimes even if the phone is showing full network, all my incomming calls are diverted to voicemail. i hav to do battery reset to get my fone's network to start.

Forget weeks of reliability, i am not even close to using 1 day without battery reset.

Feels like the P1i is a pike of crap (I dont want to say this as i loved previous SE walkman fones)

What can i do as i am not able to update to R9H005 firmware as my fone is not generic.

Anyone having same problems ?

Sounds faulty.

I had the same problem in my P990i, and had the unit completely replaced under warranty.

Hi there,

I highly doubt your warrant would be effective in the UK as it was bought in the far east. I think the warranty is regional not global. Try da vinci to unbrand it, change the CDA to the world version and update through that way.

Uninstall some of that 3rd party software or do a hard reset.

I updated my firmware yesterday to the same version R9J004

so i dont think there is any need to do hard reset

and just now the fone stopped responding to any network. So i put it in flight mode. and then while i tried to put it back in network mode it rebooted and said "The phone has restarted to improve performance"

this is lame

Reading some of the complaints from other P1 owners, this thing sounds like a Palm Treo, resetting itself all the time. I've had a boatload of Symbian phones, all Nokias, and they've been nothing but stable. The P1 is not impressing me so far. Maybe a firmware update will help, but until I hear of one, and that it's made a difference, I'm avoiding this one.

My P1i is very stable. It has not crashed once, and i had it running for 14 days recently. So I think you can go with it and feel quite confident.
