yes its a bit of dust,but:
1: according to se themselves it is a fault.
2: inside of the camera lens is the last place you want it.
3: if 1 can get in then god only knows how many can get in. |

in relation to the CPW senario, as it is fault, yes you are entitled to a replacement as far as the sales of good act in concerned0 however, if it's a potential fault that has no detriment to the general and everyday use of the phone, i think it's border line! as it's the 2nd phone he's had with same prob, there should be no reason why they won't swap it! then again, this is CPW, and unlessit's a sale there not interested-rather save stock for new connections and protecting there bonuses/commission!

I think that SE should begin "Bonding" the LCD screen to the outter "glass" in a vacuum tight enclosure, then SEAL it so that NO dust gets under the screen. I'm sure sure if this case is seperable without damage looking at the K850.
Whats seems more of an issue is its bottom open design looks like it BECONS DUST particles under the screen.

imo if its a manufacturing failure, se should replace it as often as it happens that the cam gets dusty. se is so proud of the k850, 99% of ppl buy it cos of the cam, so they shouldnt say, i replace it once and thats it. if they made shit, then recall the fone and relaunch it. maybe some series arent made well, so some dont have this dust bug...

to be fair the problem isnt with se, it was the cpw who said they wouldnt change it for a second time. |

@indup
Personally i wouldn't accept that, it's a camera phone, dust shouldn't be getting in it's not your fault and you are entitled to a phone that doesn't have this problem as of course it will be detrimental to it's function. It's not going to get better only worse if this has happened so quickly what happens in a couple of months of dust build up.

The funny part is that the glass is there to prevent dust LOOOOL
Dude u have the right to take it back, they can not say no. Stand tall and you will get your right.
(Here in sweden if u get same fault 3 times within 2 years you can get your money back instead of a replacement phone (<-- just an example) so it is 100% BS if they say you won't even get a replacement phone when you are under warranty, LOL @ the suckers over at CPW) |

i changed my handset yesterday because of the dust spec problem and i spent about half an hour in the cpw and had to look at three handsets until i found one that i was satisfied with. the lady who served me basically didnt want to exchange it and tried her best to convince me that even though i had bought the phone on the 12th that i was outside the 14 day exchange period,(go figure that one out?). after that failed she tried to say that the dust problem wasnt something for which they would exchange. i said se themselves told me its a fault and it needs changing. so she then gets on the phone to cpw engineers department in the hope that they would say it isnt a fault and she can refuse to exchange it but you should have seen the look on her face when the engineer on the other end of the phone said yes it is a fault,(priceless). so at the end of the day i came away with a handset i was happy with.
just checked the handset now and yes there is a dust spec slap bang in the middle of the inside glass cover. |

How can SE not know this is a problem before shipping it..I mean it's the friggin lense cover for the camera, do a couple of tests to see if dust can get in for crying out loud.
This is enough for me to not buy the phone, if dust gets in that fast for people, imagine what its gonna look like in say 6 months or so...yikes.
