I notice quite a bit of difference in sound between the hpm-70 and the hpm-75.
The former is good general purpose sony earphones with the typical sony bias towards bass.
The hpm-75 has a much more natural reproduction of the sound & timbre. It's very noticeable with acoustic music (folk, instrumentals, jazz. classical...). But I find they're actually worse for amplified music (most rock, electronic, dance...) The mid to mid-highs are really really nice but a little soft in the bass (don't use the megabass setting; it ruins everything!) Again, the audio quality is very nice for the right kind of music. Their impedence seems higher than the hpm-70's; they're not as loud at max. volume on my k850.
For my all-rounder headset, can't beat the audio technice cm-7 ti I'm using. Every kind of music sounds good on them. Just wish they were in-ear types to block out extraneous noise. |
