? I thought we were talking about mobile phones here, not PPC's!? Besides the p800, which uses symbian 7.0, is not far from a PPC when it comes to features and it's smaller in size.

What exactly are the PPC features you are talking about here? Are you talking about MSN messenger? - the 7650 has it. Are you taking about real webbrowsing? - 7650 do it. Are you talking cant touch screens? - p800 got it. Are you talking about viewing word documents? - p800. Just about Any feature you wan't could be implemented into your device with a symbian app! = )

if you read this articles, you will be noticed of this :

OPERATING SYSTEM. PDA functions—especially software compatibility and wireless Web access—depend on the operating system. Current models are built around the Palm, Symbian, and Pocket PC OSs.

so Smart phones will be make by Pocket PC OSs

Look, the expression; smartphone is not a standard set by Microsoft! If you read up on symbian news, you will notice that samsung, siemes, panasonic etc. have all excepted the the symbian platform to run on their future SMARTPHONES! So this means that Microsoft will lose market for their os, as most of the major mobile phone manufacturers choose symbian as their operative system!

So smart phones have smart futures ( Pocket PC features, wow that's cool)

So what if Microsoft will make a mobile phone with their own os! What the he!! does microsoft know about making cell phones anyway?! If you think of cell phones to day being buggy, then just imagine a phone by M$!! Like i said before, there is nothing a microsoft powered smartphone will be able to do that a symbian powered smartphone cannot do!

I don't thinks so Microsoft will be make good phones but i think that Microsoft will be make good OS for smart phones because Pocket PCs OS maked by Microsoft and every country, pocket pcs sold milions so Pocket PCs have good OS and this OS will import Smart Phone and this will be come; smart phones will be good at Symbion phones.

I don't agree at all. I think that them trying to monopolize the mobile phone market as well, is bad move from microsoft. I think that the symbian os is here to stay. After a while, microsoft will finally realise this and stop making software for mobile phones, and then all their products will be useless!

I agree with Raven. Symbian is the way to go. Symbian is a very nice os and has a strong position in the smartphone market. And it has been available for years.
