So yet another confirmation that it might be true... have heard that it is phones made in China or Malasyia that have the problem.

Hold on a sec! I don't know if I could have problems.
I owe you an explanation.

I've had a T68i branded T*M some time ago that had a problem: when you cycle power off and on all connection profiles different from factory set profiles are wiped out. I couldn't deal with it because I use a lot GPRS, so, as soon as R5A come out (with a fix this bug) I upgraded immediately. Yes, the profile bug has been fixed, but I couldn't make my phone calls because line drops!!. SE said that they don't know anything abt this problem and they can't fix it.

That phone was R1A & R3A, made in China. I sold it to a friend with a differene phone operator, and he is happy with it. (So are not a lot of other people!!)

I bought a new, unbranded, T68i (made in China, R4A) and I have still R2E006. The unbranded doesn't have profile bug. I would like to upgrade because R5D has a faster GPRS, but I'm not sure if it's safe for my HW.

If my HW release still has this bug and I could have a reference to this problem I can go to a SE service and ask to fix it, then upgrade SW.

Well, it was a long story, Thank you for your patience.

Sometimes when mine (T68i, hw: R2a, sw: R5d) is ringing and I press Yes to answer the call, instead of connecting the caller the display says "Last call 0:16" and disconnects immidiately without even a word.

Is this a hardware fault ?

Weird, mine is just the same. Sometimes says Last call 44:13, even though I just pressed yes. And sometimes it drops the calls after some seconds. I have a T68 with R5a sw and R1A hw.. 01W46.. *sigh*, no more warranty. Guess it will cost more to get it repaired than I want to spend on a so old phone.

@ Cytech:

I hope I've not bored you so much with my chit-chat

The answers I'm looking for are: if my (new) phone has this kind of HW problem can I get it repaired from a SE service centre? Can I give them a technical reference to identify the bug? (as they claim there is no bug).
I'm sure that in SE (home) they know exactly what are series affected by the problem. Is it possible to get that info anywhere?

Can you help me?

Tnx, cheers.......

has not released any info about this problem yet... I have sent a mail to about it but haven't got any answer yet.
so the only solution so far is to replace the phone with a swap unit.
The only way for a servicepoint to really see if the phone has this problem is to run the phone with a network simulator to test it (and since this equipment is quite expensive maybe not all servicepoint have it)
