I only made that comment because I couldn't find any reason to do a thread dedicated to this piece of junk. I don't care about how much it'll sell (because IT WILL sell!), I just thought it was kinda funny. the way the stuff about 1208 was written. it sounded hysterical. just like all the fuzz about crappy iPhone with all the amazing features it has, i.e. on/off button and clock!!!

My P990 doesn't even have a torch function so the 1200 whoops its ass in that respect.

Not a fan of low-end phones but have to agree that these new Nokia's will sell like hot cakes in developing countries.

Precisely, it has modern styling and is likely to appeal to ppl in the developing countries..and the flashlight, though not all that useful for us users of camera flashes as torches, will still hold a certain charm for the not so lucky ppl...

Well yeah, but kindly explain to me why. My 84 year old dad would turn his nose up at anything with a mono screen, it's 2007 for gods sake.

My dear man, not everyone is that well off...i have seen labourers in my country...their options? 1100,1110i,1200...stuff like that ...they will...and there are a lot more poor people in the world than there are rich

Dont old discontinued handsets get discounted in your country?, i would much prefer a recently defunkt old model than a new Nokia 1200.

apart from the 1100, none of them have been discontinued here...have they all been discontinued abroad?

Yeah, prices start high over here, but as soon as a model is replaced it's price drops by around 50%, and we have a huge, subsidised PAYG market with handsets roughly at half the normal sim-free price.

well the 1200 is as cheap as the previous models and hardly introduces anything new...so i guess there wont be any price drops here...its basically the same stupid thing with a new cover and casing..when will they stop ripping off the poor?
