The service menu's are the same, just use scroll up instead of right, and scroll down instead of left.

Daz.

@remirez:

The Notes app can do handwritten notes as well. Is that what you're looking for?

Hi. Just got my p1i this weekend. Does anyone else have this happen? When I press the shortcut key for keylock, I get the dialogue box for making a call up with the letter 'p' and no key lock. Weird and frustrating.

sounds like you are pressing and holding the star '*' key.

key lock on P1 is achieved by pressing and holding the back/return button on the left hand side

Cheers, it worked. But why does the star key have a key lock icon in red? The 'hash' key has the 'silent' icon and this works fine??

you can press the '*' key briefly (i.e. don't hold it down) then you see on screen the right soft key says "lock keys" so you can press that to lock

but much simpler to just press and hold the side key

edit: btw, the p you see when you press and hold the '*' key is representative of a pause in your dialing number

Here is one you hopefully do not need very often:

When using SEUS you are told to press and hold "C". As this button is very small this is not very easy.

But you can press and hold the Internet Shortcut button "@" on the right side of the phone instead.

Many greetings

Ok, to all P1i owners/users... I have a few questions...

1) I know it has a qwerty keyboard, but can you also switch to multi-tap (w/ and w/o predictive?) using only the numeric keypad like a regular phone? (In case you're wondering why, I find it easier to type an SMS using multitap when you're NOT looking at your phone)

2) How do you accept/reject a selection? (yes/no, ok/c) Do you press the return/enter button, or is the jog-wheel the only way to accept a selection?

3) In some apps, can the numeric keypad function as a D-pad? 2,4,6,8 functioning as up, left, right, down?

4) Would anyone know if the P1i/W960i will ever support video out?

Answer to q.3:

In java games and possibly apps as well if the game or app uses the numerical keys as a D-pad then the phone should automatically default to this, if not just hit the alt key twice to set it on to the numerical key mode, then it shoud function as a D-pad

Hello,

I can confirm that the 0 (aka spacebar) works as Play and pause, but the # and * don't seem to work as next/prev track. Does anyone know if we can program keys as next/prev, or if there are any preset keys with these functions?

Isaac

Cheers. Without any hard keys it would make it difficult to use as an mp3 player in a rush.

How about the browser? That's my main reason to buy a smartphone otherwise I'd rather buy a dumbphone.

Is there anyway to get on screen buttons bar at the bottom that show when in horizontal (landscape) mode, to show up in normal vertical mode?

Does anyone know of a quick way to turn 3G on and off. I've read in several revies that this significantly improves battery life and is easy to do, I have however not found any simple way of doing this.

thanks

About handwriting recognition ...

Perhaps you already noticed, but it took me a while to find that:
- writing above the black triangle (at the right side of the screen) (or: the upper half of the screen) results in numbers and special characters,
- writing at the same heigth of the black triangle (or the vertical middle) results in writing capitals,
- while writing at the lower half of the screen makes you get 'small' characters.

I was really disappointed about the handwriting recognition, until I learned about this trick. Now I use it very often!
