i used to buy my black covers from mobile.brando.com.hk
but they've never had a black cover for the p990i.
if anyone finds a black cover for sale, please pm me or send me a mail.

For those who are thinking of painting it (personally I don't see the point), I could suggest masking fluid. It dries quite quickly and tears off like rubber once you're done. My uni halls neighbour was an automotive design studend and he loved doing his own paint jobs on things. Masking fluid was one of his most useful tools. But it does smell like bird poop :S |

Old topic, I know. Just wanted to share my case mod of my old P990i. Still a work in progress. I'm on the hunt for a black qwerty rubber keypad. Once I find one I'll be painting the remaining silver parts into orange-yellow to contrast nicely with the flat black, to give my P990i the "sport-look" of the Energy Black C702.
I've been custom painting computer housings before and the trick to making successful gadget custom paint job is to use the proper paints (I personally recommend Bosny Acrylic-Epoxy spray paints), patience to make several thin coats in a span of 3 days, and good masking skills.
