update on this now.
Im keeping hold of it until it gets fixed as just had an email from the guys at imei check and they may be able to fit it in for repair sooner than 2 weeks, so im prepared to wait now
cheers, can lock this now, will post a new thread once its been fixed

just to update, phone is now with imei check for repair, not sure when its coming back, but will start a new thread when it does arrive home
