i buggered up my spv m3100 earlier. it now only boots up to the windows mobile screen and wont go any further.
I have been in touch with imei-check and they can fix it for £20 plus return P&P but cant do anything for at least 2 weeks. Now im impatient and cant wait that long so thought i would see if anyone here wants it, if not guess i will just have to keep it and get it repaired in due course.
Looking for at least £150 bearing in mind its only a £20 + P&P cost to fix it.
other than that fault, it is fully boxed, in like new condition, no marks anywhere
UK ONLY,
would do a trade for an orange or t-mob locked n73 with some money from me
cheers, matt

Problem 2: stuck on windows mobile screen
1. Try to soft reset with stylus and wait 5 minutes on the windows mobile screen to see if OS boots
2. If all you get is same windows mobile screen, remove the battery for some time (about 20 min should be enough) and put it again.
3. Again, if all you get is same windows mobile screen do a hard reset.
4. If doesn't solve the problem do a hard reset, but do not press spacebar to reboot after. Instead, do a soft reset with stylus when the device asks you to press spacebar.
You tried all these?

yeah cheers mike
tried all 5 steps on the xda hermes wiki page, nothing works, but imei check have told me as long as the actual device is not dead, i.e goes to bootloader or windows mobile screen then they can definitely recover it even when other people can not

Have you tried putting it into bootloader mode manually and flashing it with the original firmware?
Just trying to help, tell me to butt out if you want

i appreciate the help thanks mike
i have tried all that, problem is im stuck on bootloader 1.09 now and CID area has been messed up so will only accept an orange rom and the bootloader for that is 1.04, tried all the methods mentioned to downgrade the bootloader but none of them of working
apparently the imei check people have a way of still managing to do it using their software, but nobody else has been able to figure out what it is they do and so cant reproduce the code or reverse engineer any of it

Hi mutleyboy
Firstly sorry to hear of your problems but my advice to you would be go to the xda developers site sorry but since i sold my TyTN i have deleted the web address as no longer had a need for it. Identify your device from the list and then you will find everything you need to be able to reflash the Rom. If you are having any problems not only are there easy to follow guides but they are a bunch of really friendly and helpful enthusiasts that should be able to help oh and lastly its all free.
Good Luck
Marc

laz it would have gone fine if my battery on the laptop hadnt died, i still think you will be fine doing yours after reading the link i gave you.
to everyone else, i have used windows mobile devices for years, i am a member at xda-developers, and believe me i have read all the possible fixes for reflashing etc
in fact there are a few other people on the forum who have the same problem as me, and all the people who develop software on the forum have told them to send it to htc to be fixed as currently they have not developed a fix for it, (due to the specific bootloader we are stuck on and not being able to downgrade it due to not being able to get anything on the device) because as i mentioned before, only imei check(apart from htc themselves) have been able to develop a solution, and no-one else knows what it is, and cant get the software to get clues from it/reverse engineer etc, as to be fixed you have to send it to imei check, they wont provide you with the software to do it yourselves,
and this is where my problem is, they have said they have a big backlog of fixes to do, and as im not a previous customer of theirs i have to wait until they fix all previous customers first, hence the 2 week wait, and im not patient enough for that, so just looking to sell to someone who is patient enough to get this cheap, wait to have it fixed and then in the end will have had a bargain working m3100

right enough of the chit chat
as mentioned before i can not be bothered to wait 2 weeks to get it fixed, want rid so i can get another phone in
so, any offers, expecting £150 min as £20 fix means it would only be £170 then for some lucky buyer
if not, then its ebay or i will wait and get it fixed later then sell on

@mutleyboy

good luck with your sale and sorry for bothering to try and help

i was not annoyed with all the offers of help, it was appreciated, i did in fact mention in the 3rd post that i had tried all the steps for fixing it on the wiki page for the hermes which is maintained by xda-developers so thought it would be obvious i knew about the forum
sorry if any offence was given
@scott
yes if imei check find they can not fix it after saying they def could then i would offer a full refund to the buyer (this doesnt apply to you scott because i trust you, but just to let other potential buyers know, that if you decide after buying that you cant be bothered to send it to be fixed and then try to tell me that you tried and they couldnt fix in order to get a refund off me, then i will be able to check whether in fact it had been sent to imei check as i will be making a note of the imei and serial numbers etc, this is just to make sure i know if it has been sent to them in case of a refund question arising)

looks like im getting a cheapy smartphone now, so this is just a straight sale now as faulty, and if the buyer sends it to be fixed to imei check and they cant fix it(they have told me they can 100% fix it) then i will provide a full refund.
just bear in mind, that imei check have told me it will be 2 weeks minimum until it can be fixed
