Interesting. But can you then access the options which appear when the flip is on. You know, before you open it? |

Flip off for me as I think it's little too bulky for me with it on. |

Flip off from day one, with a screen protector even before the phone was in my hands! (good move, that... on the second day I took it out of my pocket and the protector already had a long deep scratch on it, I'd have been SOOO pissed if I didnt have one...)

It looks better without the flip but one handed operation is easier with the flip. |

I do like the flip off, but the reason why i put the flip back on, was because i have to touch the screen to reply to a message, to annoying. If they made it that I didn't have to, then i would keep it off all the time. Until that, flip on for me. |

i agree, i love flip off, but there are just one or two functions that just require the flip to be on (mainly not being able to customise the bottom row of applications on the standby screen (you can do that on the m600i) and the fact that you have to click on the little envelope to open a message...why could they not have a little sign pop up like they do with flip closed.
Is it just me, or are you guys missing the virtual flip closed option that was avilable on all the other P series, apart from this one? Its a shame cause if they had that then i would def have flip off...why SE did you remove it? |

Thats a good point, if not touching the screen alot with all that. Se should bring that back deffinately.
I dont think that i havre ever locked the phone using the slide button... strange that i guess im not used to that yet.

As I've said in other threads, I used my P900 for three years with flip. It was great (yes, more like a regular phone...), but I really enjoy using the stylus, and I love the handwritting (I guess I'm lucky, because my own style of handwriting is equal to the one the system recognizes best...).
I realised I was always opening the flip, and the only things I did with flip closed were: make calls, answer calls, read sms (I even prefer to write sms with stylus!).
So... when I bought the P990i I said to myself: if I can do those 3 things easily without flip, I will remove it. It's less bulky and it looks better. That's my opinion, at least...
So now I have the flip REMOVED and I'm quite happy! It's very easy to make calls, answer calls and read sms without using the stylus or touchscreen in any way.
Of course, a good screen protector is ALWAYS mandatory... |

it's flip-off for me too, as with the P900. Sure some things are a pain without it but there are more + than - for me |

Another reason for having the flip on is playing java games properly...try rally evolution 3d and you'll see |
