I would buy a K800I myself.
-It's easier to use and much easier to go to from a W800.
-I read on here that the N73 screen breaks easily because of it's size and no protection, the plastic lens touches the LCD too easily and breaks it.
-K800I has the better camera and a MUCH better flash.
-The N73 is 2mm wider and 5mm longer then the K800I but 3mm thinner, the N73 is 1 gram heavier and feels bigger in the hand.
-Sony Ericsson have a history of releasing updates to there firmware that fix problems or increase functionality, Nokia have only just started there self update service so have to prove them selves in this area.
-you pay for the ammount of data you use so if the N73 downloads bigger sized web pages by default then it'll cost more to use to view the internet then the K800I's browser.
-I find the N73 to be a plastic brick that's ugly, the K800I is much more solidly built and I think it's better looking.
-The K800I has exactly the same MP3 player as the W800I but without the branding and the Megabase.
-No idea how easy it is to transfer files to the N73.
-The N93 in the UK costs £175 more then the N73 and £205 more then the K800I so it's expensive, The N93 is also a huge phone, it's the same size as a P990I but you need to flip the screen up to use it.
-The N73 is a proper smart phone so can multitask but there aren't too many free programmes for it, it uses the same OS as a P990I in effect so you may have to wait a bit for programmes to come out. I don't know of any free games for Symbian and they cost more then Java games but look better.
-The camera on the W850I has no autofocus and same flash as your W800I but easily the best MP3 player out of the lot, it has the new Walkman version 2 and the same specs as the K800I.
-The K800I can view .txt and html files, I am not sure but assume that the N73 can view .doc and pdf files with an additional programme.

You'll have to think if you want ease of use or a smart phone you can install symbian programmes onto, are you going to use these programmes? Would you prefer a smart phone? Do you use the camera a lot in the dark or low light?

The K800 has some things you need, just as the N73 has some other things you need. Both are top quality phones and based on this one can choose either one. I have the k800 and haven't looked back.

Yes, the N93 is a different animal altogether! Where the N73 and K800I are digital camera's in a phone, the N93 is touted as a digital camcorder in a phone with an optical zoom lens, it's also MUCH better looking then the N73 despite it's huge size and much more capable then the N73.

@sloop - Our posts here are some kind of a 'gauge' / 'barometer' as to what we think of the choices you are opting to get . . . in the final analysis, it will be CUT to limited factors as to what to buy . . . of your choice of course . . . good luck ! Maybe you want to include also the Samsung D900 model fone in your list mate [addsig]

Hi everybody,
thx a lot for the picts! I like K800´s design better and it has interface which is great however... i´m leaning on N73´s side because of the better screen, better video and more importantly because of the symbian os´ possibilities...

But there´s still an issue: where can i find free apps and 3d games for N73?

If there arent any or any good the symbian advantage goes down the drain and I´ll have to rethink a few things...

hi I have used the follwing phones

Nokia - 3230, N70 n now E61

SE - K750i, W700i, n now K790

to compare phones from both companies is unfair caz no two of them will give you all the feature you want.

Nokia has been developing symbian based smartphones for some time. One can enjoy third party softwares on a symbian os phone. I use E61 primarily for emailing and surfing but one thing i hate about Nokia phones is tht they definitely lack style also they are huge and blocky.

SE has been developing Walkman & Cybershot based phones. They have only 2-3 symbian based phones. Very few of them have style especially the 'Z' series. (Z610)

As some one has earlier wriiten in the forum one should decide wht he/she wants from a phone then make the correct choice.

My suggestion is if camera and music is priority then go for K790/K800 or W850 which is going to be launched soon and if emailing, symbian os is the priority then go for N73, N70, N93

Or crazy like me who use both

Yeah, but the thing is that N73 does camera and music just as good or even better than k800 if u consider video and k800 doesnt do emailing and symbian as good as n73 simply because is not a smartphone. Got it? N73 does both, it only lacks the xenon flash. I had doubts because I like phones. I like their interface and the design, no wonder I own a W800i. The problem is that perhaps K800i is not a worthy upgrade because of the bad video quality, worst music implementation and the fact that its not symbian and I would like to explore my phone a bit more. I´d prefer if released a phone like K800 but with good sound quality, symbian, and good video recording. But the fact that isn´t offering a really interesting model for me now made me look around and I found N73. When i my contract ends in a couple of weeks, that´ll be my first choice, N73.
