what i basically wanted to say is that SE is yet to come up with a handset that people will see and go wow. LG Choc. in one such handset, D600 was another and now the D900. RAZR was extremely popular bec. of its innovative design. When is SE going to come up with such sets? |

The N73 is rubbish IMO, it looks ugly and is slightly bigger then the K800I and feels plasticy. It looks like it's thin until you pick it up and it's not and it's uses as a camera phone are limited due to the silly LED flash Nokia are using at the moment so that Carl Zies lens is a waste of time. It might be much more functional but it's also harder to use.
The K800I is by far the easiest camera phone there is to use due to SE's brilliant interface, the camera is fast and functional, it may not take great video's but it can still take them but the camera is brilliant. To me the K800I DOES have the WOW factor, pick it up and it oozes class and feels very solid, it's also come out top in every review of it and most will say it's the best camera phone you can buy.
Yes the LG chocolate has the WOW factor but it pails in comparison on features to the K800I and that's why it's king.
Nokia are just playing catch up to SE with there camera phones as SE beat them to it with auto focus and other camera features. But it will switch round if SE launch a 'handycam' phone because of the very inovative if huge N93.
I also think the K800I is going to be THE phone of the year, it's got very good deals on it on all networks and like I said jo blogs non techy man will pick it up and see that a 5 year old can use it let alone them, if you look around you'll see they are creeping up everywhere, I see a lot of people with the N70 but I bet most of them use less then half the phones power and functions, they probably just like the look of it so give them something that they can use and looks just as good if not better and your onto a winner.

Nokia were playing catchup, and now they are neck to neck with SE. D900 and N93's camera are the same, if not better in quality than SE. |

Samsung are the only brand that treat their cameras seriously. Have a look at this review, some of the features offered are something SE can only dream of giving.
The only new thing they gave is bestpic and the ammature audience went nuts over it.

Well if the Chocolate has WOW factor, how about the Z610. Now that has WOW factor, so how can you complain that SE has none.

K800 is a design gone wrong with that ugly hump at the back. And it is 22mm thick compare to N73 19mm. Dont even try to compare to a samsung.
K800 height/width is about the same as N73 but N73 has screen area which is 40% bigger.
K800 is branded as cybershot but photos lost to N73 in daylight (see gsmarena/m-r comparo).
N73 or D900 has video recording which are way ahead of K800.

I'd agree with you if you said that the hump on the back was a minus from the overall design of the K800, but you've got your facts wrong.
The K800, at its thickest point is 22mm, but that's only at its camera cover area. The rest of the phone (the majority) is at around 19-20mm.

Well the difference in the height and width is quite a bit, especially in mobile terms. The N73 is 110mm long, compared to the K800 which is 105mm long. Don't say that the 5mm doesn't make a difference, because when you compared the K750 to the K800, you'll see the difference immediately. Also the width is 49mm to 46mm. So the N73 is almost 5cm wide, which doesn't help it's ergonomics (wide phones aren't good for the hand).
The screen is, nice and large though, but I'd rather battery life TBH. Not to mention that the N73 doesn't look well proportioned.

Well, the K800 is branded Cybershot, because it is a very good overall camera phone. It isn't fair to say that the N73 is better because in full daylight sun, it can produce better photos. Have you seen the photos in low light? They're pathetic, even compared to the D900. Colours are off, noise and grain. I'm not even going go into detail to see what happens if the xenon flash is used...
You should really post accurate facts when making such arguments.

But that hump will show in your pants literally. N73 thickess is at 19mm.

N73 has a good or even better battery life than K800 in normal daily use. This has been reported by people who own both phones.

If u hv read carefully I didnt say N73 is better because of the camera. I only say N73 camera is better than K800 in daylight. So info is accurate.

Well, I did read carefully, and you did say (you implied) that the N73 camera was better by ignoring the plain and clear facts that the camera sucks in low light. By branding it Cybershot, SE showed that it was the best overall camera phone in its class, thus making it a reliable camera in all conditions. Not just best in one particular area, which you have decided to do to make the N73's camera sound superior to the K800 Cybershot camera.
Now you know why the K800 is branded as Cybershot (and deserves to be as well).

When you are comparing photo quality, you should not single out the best condition (i.e. daylight), but look at overall quality. Imo quality under poor conditions is even more important.
Even my K700i takes good pictures in daylight !

How about the fact that N73 captures good quality video? For me, that makes up for the bad low light pics. |

K800 cannot be best overall. It is only equal to N73 because N73 wins in daylight and K800 wins in low light. So that's about balance out the performance.
K800 can be best overall only if you say K800 is a lower class phone than N73.
