lol mib1800 are you an anit-SE person who thinks Nokia is the top of the world? 'cause it sure seems that way when almost all your posts are basically saying how SE phones suck.
sorry for going off topic..well anyways, even though this list doesn't accurately show the order of most widely sold phones, i'm pretty sure the K800/K790 is near 1st place. |

Still it dont tally. Let's just assume the top SE 3 phone each sold 1.6million. This would rank them above N70 selling at 1.5million and still keep overall sales figure within SE reported total sales. BUT YOU ARE FORGETTING that N70 CANNOT be Nokia's top selling phone by volume. In fact, far from it. So the list is still bullock.

It is so easy to accuse some1 of being anti-SE. But my points are valid, isnt it? The question is are you up to it to challenge my these points instead of whining about them

@deepsme
Its no good. Mib1800 knows better than Gartner, Bloomberg etc.
@Mib1800
Why is it so inconceivable that SE could have 3 phones in the top 5?
Why does a company's market share increase - by consistently having bestselling phones on the shelves.
have never had - to my knowledge - 3 or 4 phones in the top ten before - hence the 7% market share.
It seems like the winds of change are upon us.

It just dont tally. SE has only 6% of market share but 3 of the top 10 selling phones are SE.

Well to be honest, the biggest selling phones in the world are probably not the N70 nor would it be the K800 even. The vast majority of phones sold in the world are cheap, cheap, cheap PAYG phones from Nokia or Motorola. So obviously were're not talking about the widest selling phone from every price bracket. That can explain why SE can still have the biggest 3 selling phones (from a reasonable price range).
And it's true mib, all your posts are anti-SE, pro-Nokia. I'm no SE fanatic, and I admit the flaws of SE mobiles i.e. video recording, segregation etc, but I'm not going to go into great detail here, it's not the thread. This is an SE forum, obviously people here are going to use, and like using SE phones. So coming in with a mentality that everyone's going to agree with your views after you post is ridiculous.
Sometimes you just don't note the facts. Car Phone Warehouse, one of the most (if not the most) popular mobile store on the internet reports, not from the sales of 'cases' which you call inaccurate, but on actual mobile sales, that SE phones are the highest selling phones on their site. And also your complete ignorance in the N70 vs. K800 thread just emphasizes it even more (the fact that the N70 is a smartphone ).
If you want to continue being ignorant, maybe this isn't the place for you.

check out this page for a better ref on whether K800 is a hit model
oh ya, one can argue Singapore is tiny singapore is small singapore only have like 6 million population so cannot represent anything
But the thing is.....if you visited Singapore often for the past 5 yrs
you will notice the number of SE user or SE shop or mobile phone shop tht willing to display SE product is increasing.
Same happen to other mobile phone trend barometer of asia.....HK and Taiwan
In Taiwan, SE is the 3rd mobile market in market share.
HK...not sure but every phone they launch they is a hit and price always not selling at suggest retail price for the first few weeks due to hot demand.
Back to the link....
K800 kick N80 immediately since N80 was the top phone in June
anyway to me, this thread is more like product oriented
it is not about you like SE or you hate SE.
even if K800 is the most sold out model in this planet....it will not mean SE will be world no1 coz in term of product portfolio...it is still behind Nokia and Moto
Razr have shipped 50million but it didn't make Motorola immediately become world no1...it only manage to make it close up to Nokia.

There you go. You have validated my point. What good is the list if it is tailored to show a certain results which you want to see? Nothing.
And it's true mib, all your posts are anti-SE, pro-Nokia
Is this all you can do? At least I have not spread lies about SE. The scepticism I have about the list and SE having the top 3 selling phones in world is valid (and your statement above confirmed my suspicion).

What does the cnetasia list show? N70 was at the top position on this list for quite a few months. BUT, I wont be so naive to use this list and declare N70 is the best selling phone in the world (because I know it could'nt be just by simple reasoning).

All I was saying was that most of Nokia's market share is due to its low end market. This made made it perfectly reasonable for SE to hold the top three positions from various sources even though SE doesn't have a significant amount of market share. All the phones are on an equal playing field anyway. There are no low end phones, so what's the big hoo haa about the whole thing being rubbish if they are all equal?

Somethings telling me you are misinterpreting those figures.
If 3/10 best selling phones are from , that doesn't translate to having about 30% of the market share.
It means has 7% market share but 3 of its handsets last month sold faster than anyone elses.
If this continues then the market share will inevitably rise.

I am a huge fan of both SE and Nokia, but for very different reason's...i returned to se over a year ago specifically for the k750i..i don't think ive seen such a successful handset as the k750i since the t68i..it's sales have been phenomenal...and quite rightly so...
When i managed my cpw store, our sale's were predominantly nokia..of all variety's..that was before the k750i, z520i, w550i was released...things changed..
However, at the middlebrook branch, there best seller's were SE handsets...
I remember going to a manufacturer's show and tell show (closed to the public) and i watched nokia's head of marketing, and several other employee's really have a go at se employee's showing off the w800i...really very childish..some of the remarks were downright nasty...i think nokia knew then the tide was turning a bit, so to speak...nokia realized se were on the verge of some incredible success and so this turned to very childish comments..it was incredible to hear..i was stunned... |

That must have been funny to see actually - but not very professional.
I wouldn't be surprised if one of those hecklers was mib1800

lol...it was funny, but, i was thinking...if that were me at the nokia stand, instead of making childish remarks, i would simply learn what i could and congratulate them on a lovely product... |

You mean they were making these remarks while the presentation was going on
Well that doesn't surprise me.
