I was also annoyed by the clock the first time I got my unit and I also had that notion of getting rid of it if possible. The up-sides greatly outweigh the down-sides of having it, though.

I really like the clock too. But I wish there was an option to set the delay time... 30sec, 5min, 10min, ect. I mean, whats the point of having nice animated screen savers if you never see them!

Agrees. Why not the option to display these with backlight off?

Leave the clock screensaver but add a symbol for missed calls and one for unread sms'... You now have only the time..

It's good idea. SE should add this in the next firmware.

i also like that clock. thats the thing i miss from my t68i! i wish the 7650 has that 2.

7650 has the same clock/screensaver as T68.
And you can set a display after xx minutes on it, up to an hour.
It also shows missed sms or calls as an icon on the clock string.

i like the clock, but wish it also showed the date too, or let me set up my own black & white screen saver (now that would be cool)

Hmmm I don't think Juzman's problem was that the clock is "bad", he just wants the option to turn it off. If the reason for not having this option was to save battery, then there wouldn't be an option to leave the backlight on. I also don't think there is an issue with LCD burn for the same reason. Do LCD's suffer from burn when they aren't backlit? I'm not sure and I have never seen an LCD display of any kind with a burn problem, although they may exist.

I like the clock too, but why not let the user decide? There could be an on/off/delay option for either clock, animated screensaver, or nothing at all. Those who love the clock could leave it on. Still, this is a pretty minor issue and it doesn't seem like a petition is they way to go about changing it IMHO.

i vote for the clock, i like it and i think it is cool and saves batt, however it has nothing to do with the lcd burning out, first of all the lcd is not like a laptop lcd, the current that circulates and powers the pixels is much weaker so none of them will burn, i never heard anyone complain about dead pixels on a mobile phone, so it is unrelated. as for pinolo's idea to get icons to show along with the clock that is a great point, i vote for it, i would definately like it. but the clock is got to stay, or may be they should make it customizible, so we can create our own styles like an analog phone (the circle throughout the screen) like the vertu, would look classy i think... anyway, my opinion.

poor guy. shot to pieces.

i am all for end user customising. i am also for batt conservation. maybe for guys who carry two batt around, they may want to show their screensavers all the time. after all, he paid for the fone and batts?
yeah, as an option, why not. i am sure it will not put them in the red as a result of this upgrade.

I don't mind the clock, but should have included an option to turn it off or customize it.
