Well mine are the same as the black drawing. here's my solution: Slide the clip all the way up against the mic, then clip it to your shirt on the height of about where your shoulder bone meets upper chest, this will support the mic and give slack to the left earphone's wire. Then toss the right side's earphone around the back of your neck. Problem solved!! Refer to illustration. The Red on the collar is where the clip AND Mic should sit.

Mine are like those aswell. I wonder why SE did that, considering even the most expensive earphones have a design in which both the left and right wires are the same length
