Yes, that looks like a simple and effective solution!
we could probably make our own version of that though out of card I'm sure, I might have a go as my headphone wires are always getting tangled up, no matter how careful I am with them!

I have the original earphones I bought with my W800. I found solution for this. A year ago I was travelling with plane and there in the plane they gave me earphones (very cheap ones), but they had a good box (like the upper you've shown on the pictures), so I put the W800 earphones in that box. I think there is not any danger for them while they're in that box |
