Although my Sennheiser in-ear headphones have so called "tangle free" wires I still find that I have a spaghetti mess when I pull them out my pocket whether I coil, fold or just stuff.

I did once have some very cheap Panasonic headphones which had a little case and springloaded rewind faicility like in a tape measure.

How do you carry yours about ? Any suggestions for a tangle free existence?

Thanks, MnM

MnM: what exact model is that? tangle-free/proof? interesting.... you got a pic or something?

i hate the wraparound design of SE's headphones. they dont feel right (for me) when youre walking down the street and the wire goes down on one side. i wear a jacket over my shirt to hide the wire from view, but that's not always the best option, as temperatures here fluctuate between 20-40*C at the blink of an eye

I have noticed a very strange way of carrying the handsfree by several people. They use a monophonic handsfree, with the earplug in one ear, and the cable hanging over the other ear, so that the microphone hangs right below their nose, or almost inside their moth. It looks like those oxygen things they like to put on people in hospitals in movies on pepole that should appear ill.

When I use the handsfree, I like to put the cable inside my shirt or T-shirt, not as much for making it invisible but because I once almost lost my phone because the cable was stuck into something on a buss and it wnded up with the phone hanging in the headphones cable which in tur was hanging in its earplug which was still attached to my ear.

When I don't use the handsfree, I try to wind it up carefully, starting from the earplug end, and when there is about 10 cm left of the cord, it wind that end across the rest of the winding, the same way as mountain climbers or (sailors maybe) wind their ropes. Doing it this way, it takes somewhat longer to put away the handsfree, but it is always easy to unwrap the cable without any major tangles. (see the picture below)

Once upon a time I bought a Sony headphones set that came in a very handy little round box in which you placed the earplugs in the middle, and then you winded the cable around it. I wish there was something similar available for a mobile phone handsfree with room for the microphone lump on the cable as well. (see the picture below)

But even SE's A2DP headphones have cables that get tangled.

I guess the only answer is Moto or aftermarket 1 piece wrap-around A2DP headphones.
Come on make us some decent cordless BT headphones.

You could use these:

I've seen quite a few products that designed to help with tangles and the like. This one I found was just found in a quick google. Betch you that there are many more.

Axilom: they are Sennheiser CX 300 (RRP in the UK around £40 but should be able to get them for £30ish. http://www.discountdiscs.co.u[....]nn-CX300blk&Category_Code=senn

Obviously from concerns they are not exactly tangle free but certianly the wires seem a little stiffer than the norm which helps.

Sharilon: Have ordered the earpod and will let you know how I get on.

Thanks for all the tips

It will be interesting to know if the microphone unit fits in the center together with the two earplugs.

Got the earpods. Bit fiddly and bulky. Also adaptor does not fit in the box. Probably OK for safe storage but not, for me anyway, for day to day use. See photo
