Nice! That sounds like a good deal... so do you have 1000MB a month for 3 months or the whole contract? If the whole contract its worth having t2 contracts o2 for calls and orange for data.
Just got of the phone from o2. They sorted it out incredibly quickly!
I'm glad I phoned today, because its been less than 48 hours (or something like that).... A courier will be at my door step tomorrow with a new phone and I think take mine as well (I hope - need to check my confrmation e-mail)!
I think I may report the fault to sony ericsson as a bug.
Sweet!

how long have you been with O2? they seem to be v. kind to you....
its for 3 months free. but they said that if I wanted to carry it on it would cost £4 a month.
but the thing is i think he was confused because there is no way you can get 30mins video calling and 1000MB and month for £4.... i'm sure the orange site says
Orange World Access (GPRS) monthly price MB included cost per MB out of bundle
Orange World Access 4 £4 4MB £1 per MB
Orange World Access 10 £8 10MB £0.80 per MB
but i swear they guy on the phone said if i want to keep the 1000Mb etc then just don't phone up and cancell! i'll have to check, when i phone up they might offer me more money. hehe

you could have gone into an o2 shop and taken the upgrade for free and asked them for the deal!
Online tariffs upgrades are based on monthly spend and not tariff alone.I had a massive argument with retentions on behalf of a customer (I work for o2) because they wanted to charge him £160 for an n70 upgrade...the phone is free on all tariffs, in the end I told them to change the tariff he was on and I upgraded him for free to that phone from my shop. |

I did go into the o2 shop and spoke to a women in there and explained the situation and she said that i'd still have to pay for it unless i bought a tarriff of £35 a month or more.
and then I thought about buying online but then i would have to wait for delivery and the o2 shop said that i couldn't take one of theres, where as orange could get me the phone there and then.
all i wanted from O2 was an upgrade a couple of days early because i'd lost my phone and the tarriff they offered me and the free upgrade to K800i, turns out they couldn't do it and i'd been with O2 on contract for 2 years, and on pay as you go before that now i'm gonna stick with orange cos them seem to treat me right

When I was talking to the retention guy. He said that they couldn't offer me the phone free as only highstreet stores can retain based upon monthly spend.
He recommended that if I wanted to get the phone for free, I could visit a shop. But as I did have a pretty sweet deal and I'm too lazy to go to the shop (I live in the sticks - so there miles away), just decided to go for it. I don't think I could off got the same deal based upon my monthly spend (I rarely go over what my contract covers).

see now I always over spend and they still gave no le way. i was already on O2 online 200.... they could have offered to put like £70 credit on to my O2 account and so effectively I'd have got the phone for free, but will have paid something then and nothing for a few months in contract terms.

that is bullshit im sorry to say, sometimes stuff like this really gets y goat!! on page four of the new brochure it states : we will match o2 online for handset price...and guess what....the phone is free on ALL contracts so you dont have to be on a £35 p/m tariff! so we could have done it for free but sometimes the staff are just idiots, sorry this is the case, should have come to me and I would have done it for free lol |

wish I did get comission....
You would need to work out a retention deal with o2 directly, come into the shop then I would do it as a free upgrade.
Also theres the question of where you are and where i am |

well i'm near manchester.
who are these retention people I keep hearing of?
so i'd just have to sort out the tariff
and you would sort out the phone in sort?

this thread seems to have gone off topic and then been completely taken over...
can we assume the original poster has sorted his problem now?

All is funky, received my replacement handset from o2 via courier (who also took my old one), the next day.
And the problem now does NOT occur. So looks like it was just a one off.
And I must admit hats off to o2, I have very pleased with their support line.
