the screen is not the same - anyone who says otherwise go put them side by side - the w810i has a 0.1" bigger screen, and had much brighter display.

thanx guys for all the replies, I think sold my K750i and got a K-jam.
But now I'm selling this slow freezing touch screen K-jam and getting a W810.
By the way the reason I am going for the W810 is because of the 850mhz band. I'm on cingular in the US.
my K750i never worked right.
I really wish SE makes some better quad band phones.

W810 has a light sensor that changes the brightness in dark or light conditions, works really well, put your finger over it in daylight and you can see it fade, saves a little battery i beleive.

THE W800i
This is the most expensive phone I've ever owned. I bought mine about 6 months ago and I still curse at it daily. That's how bad it is.

So much bad stuff I don't know where to start...

1) Some basic phone 101 functions are not included. For example, if a friend sends you a text message to ask you the number of your friend John, on most phones you can access your "contacts" while writing the message, and get John's number automatically. I could already do that on my first phone back in 1997; but no such thing on this $NZ850, 2005 phone. You have to remember the phone number or write it on a piece of paper and then type it yourself.

2) When someone who is not yet in your contact list, sends you a text message, you should be able to use that message to save their phone number, right ? Wrong. On
this state-of-the-art phone, you need to pretend to call them, then quickly cancel the call, then scroll through to your "called numbers" list, and from there you can save the new phone number. (if u havnt had it on auto-ask)

Just these 2 things give you an idea of how well-designed this phone is.

More bad stuff:

3. The PC software is horrible and counter-intuitive. It will take hours for you to understand how it works and start transferring music to the phone, and thank god they just improved it now with new Firmware else if you accidentally take the data wire out, without stopping it, u will lose everything in the Stick.

4.The mp3 player software is awful to navigate in. Plus external buttons are badly designed and you sometimes jump to another song without wanting it, or start playing songs by accident while using the phone.

5. The camera, everytime i get my fone out of my pocket, the camera is running.

6. Random exasperating fact : I have a one Giga memory card and there is about 200 Megas of free space on it. Yet every two-three days I have to spend time deleting text messages because the phone cannot save those on the memory card. And you can't receive new messages when the allocated "text message memory" is full. I can tell you, it's a great feeling to have to drop everything and chose some msgs to delete, in order to receive your new messages, all the while knowing you have enough space to store about 4 full CDs on your card.

And when if you do decide to delete all of those msgs all together, there isnt an easy way of doing that either, you have to go thru Manu, File Manager, More, Memory Status, Messages, (and even there you dont have that option still), then still keep going to...Inbox, More, Delete all msgs, (lol still going)..All or All read, Delete all messages YES/NO....finaly you are there BUT wait a min, the bar has to go ‘till the end’ as if it is downloading something, So you just still wait for it (50+msgs =30sec). Even then it says 'All Msgs Deleted' and then 'No More Msgs'. For God sake i just Deleted All of them so do you still have to tel me that THERE ARE NO MORE MESSAGES...

There is more but I guess you got the message. If you haven’t yet then just don't bother buying this overpriced, underdesigned exasperating piece of...phone. I am going to post this review on a few sites,
I've never done that before but I guess getting pissed off every time deserves some retaliation.

BUT I DO STILL USE IT THOUGH – GUESS NEED TO GET MY MONLY OUT OF IT

....................and i still love this thing.......................

@majed
Well some things that you complain about DO work. Maybe another way you are used to (easier).
1) Just select the phone number you want to send in the phone book, press "more" "Send contact".
2) No Problem: select the message, press "more", select "Use ...." and there "save number"
3) I agree - use some other software instead. It's a normal USB device, so what? I use iTunes together with "SyncTunes" (mac) or "iTunes Agent" (Windows)
4) Maybe the phone is too small for your fingers
5) Put it into the pocket the other way
6) I agree, the SMS storage limitation is anoying. As I synch the phone to my PC daily that's not a problem.

Main difference between the w810 and the w800 believe is the following:

W810 has a better screen display...
...has EDGE for faster internet browsing
...has a Dpad navigation
...is more compact
...has an Activity Button (shortcuts)
...has no Lense Cover
...has OTA Update Service

Back to you mr/ ms KIMI
1) just select the phone number you want to send in the phone book, press "more" "Send contact".
Yes u are right. BUT guess what I was talking about when someone sends to a txt and u wants to reply (not come back to the main menu and start from the start again). And just for your info, YOU CAN NOT EDIT A MESG IN THAT METHED, YOU CAN ONLY SEND A CONTACT NO. AND NOTHING ELSE WITH IT).
2) Okay u got that right

3) I upgraded to the latest firmware and now its working properly

4) NO its not too small for my finger at all, for instance play/pause button gets pressed so often and gives you an alert suddenly sometimes.

5) Yes iv tried, but wt if u r wearing jeans? The camera’s pull-down button at the back, gets stuck.

6) And yes everyone agrees with the sms storage thing, no doubt about that.

w800i
-has standby clock
-lens cover
things you can do with w800i that w810i CAN'T
-anti-hiss music driver for quality music. no hiss
-increase earpiece
-improve camera and video quality
-bigger phone book

as you can see w800i wins hands down, take that w810i hiss machine away!!

both the phones have their own pros and cons. for instance, the w810 lags in camera lens cover which should be present on a phone having a great 2 mp af camera. Similarly, the w800 must have edge..
