for casual use and a non-intricate user, upgrading the colors on a T68(i) would be pretty pointless, but for anyone who really uses their phone, or is a senior in high school with nothing else to do but play Yukon Struggle during physics (me) i can tell a world of difference between color difference. I used my friends nokia for a day and it was like an entire different image. i could instantly tell the color difference and it was crystal clear sharp. simply amazing. but the T68i still ranks high in my book |

I am pretty sure that 7210 & 6610 uses STN screen as T68i, Samsung T100 uses TFT screen so that's why its so bright and nice............. |

okay may be you are right, i just think i heard somewhere that nokia had a tft, but i can't find any proof at this point, may be it is stn,i have seen it and it is better than a t68i's screen, it is more subtle indeed, however it is still better to my eyes. as for the t100, that is exactly what i said, its screen looks better than a s100's since it is tft and s100 uses stn... i still think that nokia is a tft though, but i won't argue... thanx for the info anyway.

I doubt anyone else has similar technology. That's like an 18-bit or so screen.

Could you point to more info on that? |

What really pisses me off is that Sony made the sexiest PDA screens on earth to date (Clie) and they did not port over those super sexy screen technology over to the T68i. But I love my T68i nevertheless. No more PDA for me. All I need to carry is my T68i. *me kisses the T68i*
Errr.... what is a signature? |

Netguy2 Passive matrix display= STN (note passive matrix)
Active matrix display = TFT (note active matrix) Just like they use in all lap top for the last few years. Older lap tops used to use STN also and it was cheaper. Higher end machines had TFT only. Now adays all lap tops use tft prices have come down alot. |

the reason they haven't put the sony lcd on the t68i's is simply because its the exact same phone as the t68 from ericsson, back then when it was out they haven't been in a venture or whatever, it's ericsson's technology we are using, the odd thing is that why haven't they improved the screen with t300, i realize that it is a budget phone, however i see people sell t68i replacement lcds on ebay for 20 bucks, that makes it not so expensive type of part, so i guess they could have equiped the t300s with some better screens... but what can you do, they just did not...

You must be joking, right?
I've got them both, and the diff is huge.
On the 7650 screen you can see details of a photo, on T68 you can't.
On the 7650 screen green and yellow colors are bright,
on the T68 they're brownish.
When the T68 screen pixelises the photos, because of the limited
colors, the 7650 screen shows them crisp and clear.
I'm not saying that the T68 screen is bad, just that a 4096 color
screen (STN or TFT) is so much better.
Just like you would compare Mono, Stereo and Dolby Prologic/Surround.

Froddan is right
I've got two days the 7650 and the colours were brilliant.
The images were crisp and colorfull. I thought that the 7650 screen was TFT, due the good image quality and when you were in sunlight conditions, you could read the text clearly and with no reflects. (as TFT screens do)
