I just got mine on orange. There is small logo on front of the phone. Orange icons but no horrible orange bar down the side.

Couldn't agree more.Orange cc was wonderful back in the days of the nk402 and 3210.Now it's utterly shit.I'm constantly phoning them and being held in a 5 to 10 min queue. When someone eventually answers, they are often incompetent and of ethnic origin.

I do agree that Orange seem to havelost the lack of customer care recently. More and more people are complaining, but i dont think they are complaining to them.

If you dont write and complain they wont do a damm thing about it.

Regarding the India Call center. Only the Billing services are there and Orange are told that they dont have many complaints about them and they are doing a gr8 job. Again people moan on here and phones but dont write to them.

Orange have listened regarding the icons down the side of the phone. If the phone accepts them then they will put them on and there will be a setting to allow to turn them of in the phone. if the phone cant have the setting then orange wont put them on. ** Lots and Lots of people wrote and complained and they did listen. Ok the icons are different but its a start.

Regarding Orange changing it to out of stock was a mistake i beleive.

However one thing that i noticed
onestopphoneshop was advertising the Orange K800 in for a couple of weeks before Orange was selling them.

I did rng them and they did say that yes the phones are in stock and with Orange Branding.

I can tell you tho that O2 CPW cust care is worse the Orange.

I have been trying to obtain a credit for the charges on my GPRS, I had 5mb free for the first month and 02CPW say i dont. The letter i got must be for some one else or im mistaken. Ive sent them the letter they sent and no waiting.

What crap. Really p***d with them.

P.S I have k800i on 02 (Generic) on a £20 contract, phone was free (www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk) but use my Orange 3g sim card in it.

Its gr8 and i can send mms upto 300kb with out any probs.

thats nearly 30 sec mms vidoe clip. Gr8

Hummm ... i think Orange customers service/calling centres may be based in India alright.

I'm on contact and i phoned customer service to check if my my phone is set up for international roaming which it was not. I was on hold for 25 mins before they answered :-| The first customer service operator had a English accent and he set up the roaming service, included a "Try before you by" £5 worth of free calls and texts abroad from the UK and added my request for the Travel bundles - 75 texts for £15 on my account. He informed me that i should recieve a sim update(s) to confirm that it has been set up and do is read the message, delete it then switch the phone off then on to complete the update.

5 hours later i still did not recieved any :-@ So i phoned customer service again to find out what's going on which took around 15 mins before they answered. I had a woman with an Indian accent answer my call. I explained the suitation and she said she needs to check if my phone is compatable to work outside the UK. I have a W800i and i already knew it would work in Denmark (i already checked the Orange website and it being a tri-band) before she told me >-| Anyway, she told me to switch off my phone, leave the battery out few seconds then put the battery back and i should get the update. Emmm, no sim update(s) recieved! :-@
I heard another in the background another customer service operator answer also with a Indian accent.

Gonna leave my phone on to see if i receive any sim updates overnight, if not then back on the phone to customer service again :-|

So it seems they may be still based here in the UK as well as India. But could it be maybe after a certain time or on high call volume do customers get converted to India's call centers?

Sound like my experience, although I didn't spend anywhere near that amount.
Last year I called to say I was thinking of upgrading but that O2 had offered me a better deal. Instead of the expected, "let's see what we can do," the reply was "certainly Mr H, your account will be cancelled on the 15th of this month. Anything else I can help you with?!"

O2 were more than happy to have my money
Have a look at some of the photo's on my site, they can be quite good (no adult content!)

I've been offered a free upgrade to the K800I next month when my contract ends, I was told today. Hopefully these new Orange tariffs will be out by then as I'll change my contract as well.
I have to say though that I have never had a problem with the Orange CS. They are usually helpful and I can understand what they are saying. Perhaps I'm just lucky?

@ SCORPIONKING1982: Hummm ... but isn't stange to hear another person with an indian accent in the background with that operator?

@ fatreg: Ok, so the Orange call centre is mainly in the UK but there is a couple in India? But why convert us to there rather then use the UK beased ones

By the way, i did finally recieve the Sim update in the night!

Ive had a mix of call centres i think. One of my calls was an inian chap, thats was quite possibly the most stupid person ive ever spoken to. Orange cocked up and added a load of bundles (which totalled about £50) so i phoned them up and said that i was going to pay, he offered me £5 of international calls FFS. What am i going to do with that!!!!! Idiot. He wouldnt do anything about my over charging. Eventually i waited till i spoke to someone that was English and they sorted it out no problems. These Indian call cerners f**k me right off, they are useless. Rant over

im still waiting for my K800i to work. i rang them at 9o clock this morning to register my new 3G sim and i was told it would get done between 12 and 2 this afternoon. its not 6.30 and my phone is still not being used! my original sim card is still working with my W800i and i cant use my K800i.

on a plus note they are sending me an M2 card as their manual says that they were meant to supply it with the phone
