I have the same prob. When im using j2memaps or gmaps and i leave it idle the connection goes down, later when i try to search a different location the connection comes up and waste my minutes. Why it cant keep on all the time?

Hilariously enough we had the opposite thread somewhere here a few days ago, where someone's SE kept the connection alive the whole time a java app was open, and he was charged by the minute for GPRS so he wanted it to disconnect when idle. |

I put it on WAP mode, the browsing speed on the SE browser was reduced significantly, and applications refused to connect.
I'll be taking my handset to the operaters's customer care centre today. |
