that's bloody hilarious!

I think the repliers to this thread may have missed the point that the original modification isn't intended to create some mega- hifi system, it's simply to enhance the volume and sound quality output of Sony Ericsson phones with music output. Which it appears to do rather well.

As per the above photograph, I have just modified a V600 using a serial cable, an old Ericsson serial port replicator and a few speakers to create my own, awesome sound system.

Nice tries!!
But this is not new, here some early examples of other people trying to add features to their phones.

i'm sorry to say that no ipod will ever come close to listening to a portable CD player, as the sound hasn't been compressed , and 95% of the orignal recording removed.

but well done to the chap with the closed headphones plugged into his home made setup. [addsig]

I'm sorry but I have to dis-agree........any idiot can chop wires in half and attach them to a set of speakers or headphones.

It's not exactly rocket science nor something to brag about in a forum is it.

But if u rip a cd at 192kbps on to your pc and then transfer to your ipod its the same quality! an ipod is capable of playing much higher bitrates

Who uses .mp3 anymore. Try AAC or Lossless.

@leeboy, agreed, any form of conversion/compression results in loss in quality, therefore cds still sound better.

No, I think you are missing the point. The object of this thread was to demonstrate that in the originators mind, his w810i is the best .mp3 player ever created. He is still wrong. Second, he was demonstrating that by destroying a speaker system and using the amp sound quality is further enhanced. Debatable but I will go with this premise. Everyone knows that a CD will sound better than a converted file. Duhhhh!!!!! So I do not see what the debate is here. I was talking about putting converted sounds, i.e. AAC or Loseless on an iPod as opposed to using .mp3.

Soooooo, I think anything that does not refer back to destroying a portable sound system is moot, including my posts as well.

I think we are now clear on this.
