Dialing problems on T-Mobile? |

I think this may be a SE phone issue. I got a Treo for my wife last night, and we have had absolutely no trouble getting it to dial out...even at the same time as my T68i is having trouble. |

Bummer if it is a SE issue, but it could be since I have the same problem with the T39m I just got a few weeks ago.
I was wondering if it could have to do with how strong the phone's transmission is? I don't know if this makes sense, but could the
phone show strong signal for reception, and yet not be able to
generate as strong of a transmission to be picked up by the tower?
This would also explain for me why sometimes in my apt, I have
crystal clear reception, but the person I am talking to complains
that I am fading in and out.
Anyone have any opinion or knowledge about this?
euangel: Let us know as you continue using the Treo if you
become convinced this is a SE issue.
thanks,
Chris

I have a T68i in San Francisco. Depending on the location, I have to dial the same number 2-3 times. This has nothing to do with the phone.

I experience the problem you describe during the busiest part of the day, usually around 4-6pm rush hour when everyone and their cousin is on the phone. Understandable but still frustrating. I have AT&T in Los Angeles.
Here's something else weird I've been experiencing recently. When trying to call someone (typically long-distance) I hear someone pick up but they don't say anything, so I say "hello?" and a complete stranger says "Hi is x there?" as if they too are trying to call someone. Anyone else experience something like this?

I live in San Diego and I have a T300. I have seen similar problems wit dialing. I have to dial a couple of times before it connects. I believe its got to do with the software. Don't know for sure. |

I had the same problem with dialing on SE t68i. Now i switched to Samsung S105 and all the problems are gone. No more delays. So i guess it is a phone problem

I called T Mobile and they confirmed that *they* are having problems with the tone signal resolution. This has been going on "officially" since Feb 6 2003, but I suspect it might be an older issue. Anyway, they know about it and have committed to have it fixed by Feb 10 2003. Let's hope they are right about the fix date as I am expriencing the problem on and off today. |

This appears to be tower specific for se. My t28 had the same problem. My wife's Motorola connects consistently. It is controlled by a different tower.

This is in NYC.
Another connect problem: ATT shares towers with T-mobile as they set up their gsm network. I now have to use a manual select network to avoid interference. So far ATT has stronger signal penetration, into areas where I cant get a signal.
Anyone else have this problem &/or a better solution?
