Dialing problems on T-Mobile? |

Just wondering if anyone else is having a problem with this...
Sometimes, not all the time, I have to dial a number three or four times before my call goes through. I'll enter the number and then push Yes. Then it just shows "Calling" and I have to press No and try again until it says "Connecting". If I'm standing still and move the phone a couple of inches and try again, it works. Very strange. Don't know if it's a T-Mobile thing or a phone thing. |

I think it is your phone. I say this because I had a T68M and had the same problem you have.
I now have a T68i (AT&T unlocked for T-Mobile) and calls are simple and fast.
I live in OC. Go Angels!!

That happens if the phone can't hold a good signal with the tower...Tower might have been too busy or just bad reception where you are
I get it once n' a while but then it goes away within a min or two |

Really it is his phone!!
I had a T68M, it is a piece of crap in Orange County. I had SE upgrade the software in Oct.; I had worked a little better. I now have a T68i and I cannot not express how much better it is over the T68M. I connects everytime.
Chas
BTW... T-Mobile coverage in SoCal is very poor in certain areas and especially in your house. Or maybe it is the T68 that has no external antenna. |

Chasman:
I dont know why you were having problems but all I can say is my T68m(now an i) never had any problem before the upgrade or after. Yes I did seem to notice that the RF reception got a little better after the upgrade but it was never a problem before. I have a Nokia 8290 that my wife uses and when we are out together, whever her signal is weak so is mine just about the same. In fact there are times when my RF is stronger than hers. lol Go figure ehh

MrSavoy,
I had posted a reply to Sparky because I too live in OC.
T-Mobile just rolled out here and we have very poor coverage.
Also T-Mobile does'nt offer the T68M(i) for us. We who have the T68's in SoCal got them from someplace other than T-Mobile. We are trend setters. Ha!
Now having the T68i, I do not have the problems I had before or as Sparky has.
We have the best phone, but the reception is very bad in some areas. Heck I can not use the phone in my house. Two block away I get five bars.
With my T68M the main screen says Cingular; the T68i says T-Mobile.
Same Sim Card. ???Strange???
I say it the phone!!

Yes thats what I was saying. The phone can't hold the signal consistantly...thats why your firmware upgrade and t68i do better because they get better reception with the newer firmwares. |

Signal strength, network congestion, and individual phone defects could probably all cause this sort of problem. Here's an interesting post from porterg:

Only problem with the rubber back on the T68m is that it reduces the RF, so get lower signal.

Thanks Chasman. I actually have the same exact setup as you. An AT&T T68i unlocked on T-Mobile. I would tend to think it might be the tower but who knows. This problem doesn't happen that often but enough to where I do notice it. |

Is anyone else still experiencing this? My wife and I are new T-Mobile subscribers, and both have this problem. I have a T68i and she has a T300.
I've also had some problems with calls not ringing through to my T68i. |

I have a T68i in San Francisco, CA with T-Mobile. I, too, sometime have to dial 2-3 times before connecting. The issue is not with the being, but singal and reception.
