I think its a good idea, personally i sell alot here at Esato without a penny being charged. If i can help by donating a little money a month or every other month i will definately do so.
If i was to sell as many items on Ebay as i do here, i would've been charged a heck of a lot of money, Esato does not charge us and we are grateful for this but as Boba says we should give as well as take.
Boba, i am behind you on this all the way.
I will donate whatever i can whenever possible.
Thanks

@krubach for the last time, its not if he asks for it or not, to support sg doesnt mean that without the donation esato goes down.

@Bobafett for the last time, its not if we should support it or not, to donate things mean that the other side should accept the donation.

@krubach would u accept a bit support? Just imagine that u are the host, all fine with the site, but then the community offer u to share a bit the costs, cos the site itself is on the same way important for members and the host. Any support should have been judged as appretiaton and respect, instead of "my god, now i own them sg" thought.

A couple of years ago i brought back the "Esato closing" thread where laffen said he would need donations or else the site would close (back in the begining of 2003).
When i revived it, masseur informed that Esato is going well and no donations were needed. And if they were we would be informed.

that wa a couple of years ago and my comment was based on something that laffen had posted recently befoe that.
but... being 2 years ago anything can change and I have no idea of the current situation.
however, though a noble gesture, I feel this whole scheme is over complicated and if members were to donate it should simply be for any member, not just traders, and via paypal or some other easy method.
I personally think this requires a comment from laffen as to whether this topic is even required

Finally finish with the tax return form
I met Boba in Oslo last week and he had some ideas around Esato and wanted to hear my views about them. I told him that the donation period was over and that I did not want or need direct donations any more. I also told him the current cost of running Esato and he wanted to hear views from other members about the trader-donation thing you see in the starting post. As you all know, Boba is an enthusiastic and energetic person
I also feel that regular members DO something valuable here by filling the forum with useful information for the next visitors.

I've seen Boba trying to revive this old idea of his - donating for/at Esato. It's a nice gesture, but as I have told you back then . . . when it comes to money matters . . . it's just NOT that 'easy' convincing the populace But I am very certain when the time comes that Laffen will be needing OUR FINANCIAL help, help will surely come his way We are not totally sure here if Laffen is making - so much/enough/in the RED . . . when it comes to Esato's financial gains . . . who knows if the CEO is doling out 'most' of the time (from his own wallet) . . . just to make this site running.
@boba - How does Laffen 'look' nowadays (still thin?) any pics PM will do . . .

@laffen - That's good to hear Sir ! The last time I saw your pic you are kinda . . . thin, and that was 3 years ago? A rare meet with you should have some images taken and buddy-hug too , how I wish Boba just did that !

@jn, @laffen never thought that espcially u two would together 'spam' ;-)
@all thx for your attention and posts, i wish to share with u a last thought. I do think, that we are all spoiled here more or less by esato. Lets hope, that one day donations will be needed to manage the site, imo it wont happen. But to avoid that situation, laffen dared here a huge responsibility and made himself the biggest donator. For us and for himself aswell. Pls, think of it every time u login here... Friendly regards, Boba

Let's NOT!
Better if donations are not needed, it indicates that laffen is going well financially...
