Of the two competing phones released by both companies I would say has the edge on design.

true maybe, but imo ruined by se choice of colour scheme! everything seems to be white! -not very professional...but its not very professional copying the horrendus ipod colour scheme!

So everything phone that's white has an ipod colour scheme?

no i didnt say that.
but looking at the w900i in white,
very ipod like -walkman branded.
ipod renowed for the whiteness (even though they make a black model.) when MOST ppl think of the ipod they think of the white version
as a phone it looks very toy like in this white styled manner.

like the ipod imo.

TBH I can't see any similarity between the 6280 and the W850, apart from the fact that they're both sliders. And just like what everone has been saying, there's only a certain amount of ways a keypad can be arranged, unless you want to have the keys arranged in a neat circle or something (Nokia anyone?)

of course there are models that will definitely look familiar to each other... why? dont you think these companies dont mingle with one another? well i bet some of their deisigners were batchmates in college or peers or close friends... its kinda like car companies... NISSAN, MITSUBISHI, TOYOTA, there was a time when theyve agreed on a tail-light design.. then every car released were kinda like one another. IMHO i think same goes with cellphones. this is being done to step up the pace.... give the competition a notch higher... its also kinda like marathon... running.. sprint... each athlete runs his own path and yet on a single valodrome/racetrack.. get wot i mean?
