Hey guys, it has come to my attention that Sony Ericsson is unveiling a new sporty phone, W710 in its walkman series. If I'm not wrong, according to Mobileburn.com, Nokia has already unveiled Nokia 5500 sporty smartphone last week. As for the new W850 (damn cool phone), I can't help but notice that SE trying to copy Nokia 6280. Well i might be wrong but SE sure is playing reverse physchology to Blokia who ehem..like to "copy" other manufacturers design.

this topic comes up from time to time about one manufacturer copying another but I think its a simple inevitibility that some models from different manufacturers will have a similar appearance.

There are, after all, only so many ways you can slide/swivel/lay the keypad out etc...

yea i agree!
u cant reali call it copying because there is only so many ways into a phone model.
but only difference between phones is that it can be made, is the design, features and colors etc...

So yea

For the sporty phone thing, nokia launched it a few weeks ago, it's impossible to make a phone like the W710 in a few weeks so SE must had the idea for a sporty phone a long time before nokia launched it.

and for the w850... er... that's how sliders look... all sliders look pretty mutch the same.

I sure wish they would copy the "high end" Nokias build quality!!! my less thana year old P910i now feels and looks like a pile of poo, thanks to thin cheaply made plastic mouldings and rubbish painted finish.

Aluminium would have been a more appropriate chioce for their flagship model and with the prices they charge anyway most people would be prepared to pay a bit more for real quality I know I would.
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot.

Hi its not right that charges top dollar for phones that seem to be getting of worse and worse quality build each year I really thought both companys would want to preserve their bands name for quality but no!

I have a mate who is quite senior in Nokia Finland and he told me that Nokia have been listening to their customers and have been told that build quality is a very high priority now and it certanly shows in their "high end" products which feel solid and seem to be made of much higher quality materials including aluminium, so why cant do the same? I love their technology but I am getting very very P***ed off with their S**t build quality.
