u can check if your firmware version is the latest or download the new one using your phone alone, just navigate into the Setup menu and select the “Update Service” to check for firmware update. |

Now back to the topic....
If taking pictures with the w810i even the older models, what I can suggest is set the "white balance" manually according to your current condition. Don't use Auto as much as possible.

hairytea, both of the pics you posted are taken indoors.
Have you tried taking pictures outside in broad daylight and test how your pictures turn out? Are they any good? If still not, then there might be a problem with your unit. |

Catalyst, after hunting around for some time and finding the address for you, which you reference on the previous page - I'm suprised you're so swift in claiming credit for it.

So rather then post it to try and help him i was suppose to wait 7 hours for you to link it for him? Its not about taking credit it’s about trying to help others |

Sloop,
You keep mentioning following the download link.
Which download link, there is not one in the phone options anywhere. i have been through every single option available time and time again and the update option honestly does not exist on my handset.
I did mention in a previous post that my handset was missing lots of options (including sending text messages) when i bought the thing. Anyway, Orange UK sent me a text message that updated the phone and included the option for texting and hey presto i can now text.
Do you think i need to contact them again and say that the update option is missing also and see if they can text me a new update?
And if so will the firmware upgrade even fix the poor quality camera problem? worth a try i spose. |

OK I have a photo i have taken outdoors below (the one of my motorbike), just this second took this picture in BRIGHT sunlight, very nice day today but the picture makes it look a little bit overcast. It certainly does not show the true light outside
Off the beaten track here but had to mention how much i love the way in which the W810i lets you take 3 photo's and stitch them together as one panoramic picture....here is my first attempt:-

I agree that the image of the phone in the desk does look like a bit of digital zoom has been added, which will of course cause the quality to degrade. The photo of your bike in the day looks spot on - I don't think the camera could go much better than that!
All of the SE are grainy in low light, and even more so when digital zoom is brought into the picture (pardon the pun!)

This isn't what I meant at all. Naturally we should help others, all the while remembering that Esato is a supportive environment where people's efforts should be acknowledged and encouraged. I'm sure you can see the sense in this. Sorry all for leaning off topic.
I don't think reflashing this phone is the solution to the discussed camera woes anyhow. The above photos (IMO) look no better or worse than my own K750.
