They say to really enjoy MGS4...you must know how the story has unfolded over the past 20 years...thats what I've been doing the whole day today...here's a good LINK for those interested...

Well I just got the game and its currently installing on my PS3. Install time is 8 minutes and its 6 minutes in... And so far Snake has smoked three cigarettes. Dirty bugger.

I'm a fan of MGS also and have played MGS1 and MGS2 to completion. Also bought MGS3 on its day of release but still not got around to playing it as my work schedule and private life became very busy over the last couple of years.
Still not got around to buying a PS3 (Still have my slim silver PS2) either although I'll hopefully will be doing when they comedown in price and will also buy MGS4.
I tried sniffing coke once but didnt like it. The bubbles kept going up my nose  |

It is well worth it! Probably took me the longest of any game to get used to the menu structures and controls, but once I did it was so worth it. The graphics are sweet, the sound effects are awesome...
I won't spoil anything for anyone but it seems to have a realy good storyline so far, and some genuinely funny bits too. You won't regret this one.
@Rookwise: I'd say this and GTA IV are two games well worth buying a PS3 for. I bought my PS3 a month ago solely for GTA IV and I haven't regretted it at all.

I cannot believe that metal gear solid 4 got rated 9.3 out of 10 when GTA IV a rubbish game might i add got 9.7. ratings are rele wrong |

think this is definately one that needs to be in the collection.
just need to try and stop myself playing Call of Duty 4 online so I can get on with completing GTA4, then this can be bought!!! |

You're one of very very few people who think it is rubbish. Critics across the world agree it is an incredible game, so either theres something wrong with you or GTA just isn't your thing.
Either way, MGS's 9.3 is still a really high rating and many other review sites have given it higher... Some sites say it is the best of the series. I think GTA IV just has a broader appeal.
@deepsme: Definitely epic. You need to get this one!

dunno if any of you guys know about this rumor...but six months to the release date of MGS4 i.e December 12th..a new cut scene will run in MGS4..Hideo Kojima has programmed a sort of a different ending for the game which will only be available to view in mgs4 in 6 months time...
