Just wondering, whose played the Metal Gear Solid games and what do you think of it? Ive completed every one (except the original Metal Gear and the ac!d games) and absolutely loved every second of it.

I loved all of them. Fell in love with the first one, the story line was awsome, game play unique for the time. Even the way the camera moved in the videos was cinema like and a big hand in that was from Hideo kojima. The whole two different endings part was brilliant and i will admit to having a few tears in my eyes with a few scenes.
The second one i thought was very good even though some people didnt like the use of Raidon as the main character. I loved the twist at the end of the game and really got me fired up. Yet again game play was unique. The graphics were awsome for me with a realistic approach to the whole gameplay. I think the story line was lost a little bit and got a little complex with whos on whos side within this game and the first.
The third one with its new CQC style gameplay was awsome. I think Hideo was back to his best after he stepped back a little with the second one. With Solid Snake back again as the main character (or big boss), i think that made it all the more better. The story line was brilliant and tied up a few loose ends from the first one.
I cant wait for the fourth one, from the trailor its looks brilliant. With a new futeristic look and truly amazing graphics even though its a trailor the second game shown that the video was close to gameplay graphics and i expect the same here.
Word is that its Hideo kojimas last involvment in the Metal Gear series and also from the poster released by Konomi a few familiar faces have poped up with what looks like Meryl from the first one, Vamp, what looks like Fortune and maybe Naomi (doctor from the first one) may also be involved again.
Overall this is the main reason for me buying a Playstation 3 and i just cannot wait for the new one to be released.

Loved the first one (had to get it again when it was released on the GC)
Second one... OK
Third one was excellet, defo back on form (hopefully will continue now with four)
Never played the old ones on the nes and that or bothered to play the acid ones (cant stand all that "turn-based strategy" kind of game)

yea, i agree that the storyline in 2 was a little wierd but i liked the raiden twist and id like to see him back in mgs4. Another point is the graphics! I dont know how theyve done it but excellent graphics with no loading screens, amazing.

Raidon will appear in MGS4, but no one is sure on how big a part he will play in the game.

I'm an MSG newbie. I heard a lot of things about the series so last week I bought the third installment it absolutely blew me away. Game play is awesome and the storyline rivals the best Hollywood has to offer.

I played MGs on PS and loved it. Then tried MGS2 and thought it was ok. Recently got Metal Gear Acid for my PSP and have to admit that it is the biggest pile of doggy doodoo that I have ever played. DONT PLAY METAL GEAR ACID, IT SUCKS!

Hmm, I guess this is the Metal Gear Solid official thread... Anyone getting Metal Gear Solid 4? I'm off to get it later on today. I must say I'm pretty excited! And if you've seen the videos on youtube etc, you'll know what I'm talking about.

Yeah I've seen some awesome reviews. I guess you could say I'm a half newbie lol. I've only played the PSP game prior to this, and I'm not too sure how that fits into the entire storyline.
