But does the standby clock work the same way as K750/W800/W550, which appear even without pressing the volume buttons?

No need to press the volume button or the walkman button unless you are not in an ambient light area.

So far my w810 lense does not have any dust since I use a pouch bag from the day I got this more than a month ago.

When you say the lens is embedded, do you mean embeded with a rubber ring round it or embedded as in a layer on top of it ?

You mean there's a clock in standby mode? contrary the report of other users that it doesn't have a standby clock unless to press the walkman button?

I just got mine literally now. I think that guy needs to update the firmware. The k700 had the same issue in the start.

A big selling point for the W800 (for me atleast) is the fact that it uses pro duo memory sticks and the 4GB and 8GB are just around the corner. I also have a camera and the PSP that use pro duo so no tiny memory sticks for me...

sweet, so W800 got some arsenal now Only reason why i would get the W810 would be that I could use it more often at school than a W800 would. When you take a W800 out of your pocket you have to look out for eyes and hands.

I got a W800 and am satisfied...I like the joystick, the battery is ok to me, all I need now is more memory and a few more java applications. I have so gotton used to the shutter on the cammera I find it hard to not have it, though I Love the black on the W810. Hopefully I can Find a houseing of a different color for the W800 soon though...that would be kool

ascii, check your thread. answered "no," but there's a bit wee bit of extra info in there.
